funnyadit Posted December 28, 2014 Report Share Posted December 28, 2014 I think Ashwin should just change to his old way of bowling action...He always showed that intent before but after he was dropped he changed his action again and again to settle for one style for all the formats which has drastical changes in his performances...Ashwin was always a bowler who was like the pillar of support for Dhoni when he needed a wicket but that's no where to be seen now a days..It feels like Ashwin seems lost somewhere to control the runs flow than the wicket taking spinner he was...There was a season where batsman thought of just playing him out and attack others but now he has changed to the bowler who is preferred to attacked... I feel that he needs some time in the team like they have done with Kohli when he was not performing well continuously but the belief was that he will get back on track..Same way Ashwin needs to be given as many matches before world cup as possible because he will get that good feel of the conditions and will get better over some time... Another thing is the use of his height is not taken as an advantage to his bowling as he is bowling more stump to stump line rather than making them attck him which gives more chances of wickets... And as far as Pujara is concerned I feel he is very rigid in his batting stance and even some shots..I feel he needs to get more free in playing his shots like Rahane as he also depends on placement and timing.. It just shows our weakness/insecurities. Its cringeworthy to read that article about Virat complaining about Mitchell. He played a great inning but I think he should learn to keep the sledging to the field and not run crying to the media about it afterwards.
