They'll try to get the score to 400...

We have to keep the runs down..Have a spread out field , dont let them get quick runs..

That will absolutely not work now. Australia are not the ones pushing for a win here, India are. If we spread out the field they will just knock about till the asking rate crosses 5 and the chase becomes impossible.

It's Ryan Harris and Shaun Marsh we're bowling to, not an in form Michael Clarke and Steve Smith. If we can't get them out within the first hour (or worse if we don't even try to take their wickets and let them play around waiting for a declaration) then we shouldn't be playing Test cricket.

Spreadout i meant not fielders in the deep , but in the circle preventing singles..

Its hard to push for a win , if we have attacking fields we will concede around 6 an over and they'll be in very commanding position..

For Udham:

Also, tomorrow when I wake up:

Expectation: Australia 280 all out, India 100/1

Reality: Australia 330/8 declared, India 60/2

We need this win more than they do. I was surprised by Australia slowing down today before close of play instead of pushing hard for declaration. They want to take some time out the game before declaring. If we are winning tommorow we need to get those 3 wickets tommorow morning within an hour.

They didnt slow down on purpose.. they had to as for once india bowled.. give credit where its due.. and aussies are not the ones who play out time to get a draw.. they definitely would have scored 400+ if they could and put the game past india.. thats there usual approach of securing a match.. india bowled well in final session..

Are you sure you're not watching the highlights of the 03/04 tour ?

Normally in this situation it doesnt matter how good the opponents are bowling as the team batting has a fixed target in mind and fixed number of overs to bowl. Once they'd reached halfway they could have raised the scoring rate by targetting the spinner/wayward seamer (Umesh Yadav today)

If they wanted to declare today they would have done so. As the Aussies know that India will try to chase down whatever target has been set, even 75 overs will give them a fair opportunity of bowling them out. Until then they can try to add another 50-60 runs.

We'll be bowling to Harris, Marsh, Lyon and Hazelwood; not Hayden, Langer, Ponting and Waugh.

chushant bowling good line & length for whole day :eyepop: sign that world is going to end soon..

this spell & ryan harris' bowling show that test match bowling isnt rocket science. bowl 6 deliveries per over on good length on 4th or 5th stump around the 135kmph mark, mix in a yorker or good bouncer every few overs. rinse & repeat for whole day & you will get wickets for not much because batsmen these days dont have a lot of patience to wait for loose balls. it's not like LOI's where you have to outwit the batsman, it just requires boring cricket.

predict oz will throw their bat for 10-15 overs & then declare. dont see us winning either way. if we get a draw it'll be a miracle too as they really only need to get 3 wickets

how good was that kettleborough decision on warner though. major props

whatever happens here we need to go for a 3+2 combination in sydney. even 2+3 if its ultra dry. exploit their weakness against spin.

f**k dhoni for not taking the new ball, playing for a draw from the start of the day in a must-win game

What else you expect from him?

Do you think Rahul was promoted so he can score at brisk pace?

And ya, what the *bleep* is wrong with guy?

He is like baap of Sada Ramesh and Devang Gandhi from 99.

Let's check the Mother of Coincidences!

And Now -->

To Add more....

Both are using MRFs :P

The Clarke and Cook thing happened at some point in the middle of their 100th Test. By the end of the Test their combined score was higher.

There's more interesting coincidences between them. Both made their debuts in India and made hundreds. Then played their 100th Test together leading their respective sides.

Also Sachin at age 26 was way ahead of Virat. Sachin was already a legend and considered one of the all time greats. Virat has a long way to go.

Do you think we have Johnson, Harris kind of bowlers to run through the opposition. They have scored 60 runs in 23 overs with old ball, With new ball they would have scored those in 10 to 15 overs with the wayward bowling.
