godspeed4476
nah its not tht big an issue to recall the team. but its high time that SOB, POS Sanga is bitchslapped, or else he will continue doing it again and again. No wonder Punjabs IPL is f**ked up. Srilankan board should atleast ban him from few matches for their own good. Sanga ko nanga karke maro Also srilanka can kiss the spirit of cricket award goodbye now
TheHitman
Read this on Yahoo... http://in.yfittopostblog.com/2010/08/17/sehwag-did-get-his-century/ According to that blog post Sehwag should have been awarded the 6 runs... What do you guys think?
godspeed4476
the blog uses wrong benchmarks to compare the situation. iit gives an example of how a batsmen runs for a single but gets four runs to his score if the ball crosses the boundary. but such kind of situation cannot be applied to bowling, for ex if the bowl is a foot no-ball but also a wide then the foot no ball is considered because it took place 1st. Also if the umpires or the scorers were wrong, ICC would have rectified the score after the match, it has happen before. so there is a rule to it, its not mistake of umpire or score keepers The amount of cricket i have played i was always under assumption that, barring a dead ball, for a delivery to be considered complete it must either cross the batsmen stumps or come in some kind of contact with player. Even if its a foot no ball, the delivery is still incomplete untill batsmen plays it or ball crosses the stumps, this is the general accepted law in cricket. heard this no ball rulle for the 1st time. The stump mic clearly caught sanga instructing randiv to bowl an ball in such a way tht batsmen cannot score a run. Sanga would have probably thought that the bowler would go for a wide as they have done before to tendulkar but randiv clusterf**ked it for sanga he decides to bowl a No-ball, where his front foot was 1 km away from the popping crease. its good tht randiv screwed it up now sanga has become nanga in front of national media

Joy
Really bull-sh*t rule , if the batsmen has scored a run with his bat it should be given as runs no matter if the ball is legal or not.Its the bowlers fault not batsmens.
Chaztin
let it go guys... +1, even I would have liked Sehwag hitting a century and what Randiv did was wrong but its time to give them answers on the field and not in the board room. We all are aware Cricket boards are f**ked up political playgrounds. Though a match ban is justified but that won't really stop him from repeating his action neither would it change Sangakaras attitude. Sangakara has already shown what he is capable of in IPL. Jigsaw
^^ what did nanga do in ipl? seriously i used to adore him for his batting skills... but now i've lost respect for this jackass who can be so petty just to get back to a guy who cost them the match

Man In The Box
Well even I think the 6 should have been counted and Sehwag should have reached 105. I mean in normal circumstances, if a player hits a 6 on a no-ball he is awarded with those runs. So what's the difference now. The target had not been achieved till that ball was bowled and Sehwag hit the ball for 6. But anyway, Sangakkara does deserve some punishment although technically, he has played within the rules of the game and hasn't done something illegal. Btw, I followed the IPL closely too and I don't know what Sangakkara did that you guys are talking about. I mean KXIP did play really bad but I wouldn't say it was totally his fault. Chaztin
Dilshan advised Randiv to throw no ball to Sehwag. Whoever did it, suggested it or whatever, now the damage has been done.

Params7
BCCI should at least push ICC to abolish this stupid a*s rule. ICC won't do anything about this until it happens to an English or Aussie but with Pawar sitting at the helm right now he should push for a rule revision because it makes no sense right now. The ball was counted, the team and Sehwag should have been awarded those runs. Edited August 18, 2010 by Params7
Aftrunner
1 match ban is a bit uncalled for. I agree its was an unsporting gesture but its not like he broke rules. Seriously if we started pulling up people for being cunts on the field Ausfailia wont even get to play anymore.
godspeed4476
yeah the 1 match ban was surprising, docking the match fee was ok to some extent. I guess the SLC is in love with BCCI's money also i think in one of the test matches, dont remember who the opposite team was (may be SA) sehwag (might be wrong here too , but it was India fielding) had purposefully thrown/pushed the ball across the boundary at the end of the over, so that the other player would come on strike. Too bad umpire decided to give that as overthrow .
AtheK
why the f**k are you guys making som much noise about the rule, wat happened to Sehwag was probably unjust, but that does not mean change the rule and all....media just loves to blow things out of proportion...anytime i switched on TV all i was seeing was this on news channels... Also if this had happened to lets say a bangladesh player, would anyone bother, just that BCCI has too much money.

godspeed4476
I am waiting for the day when he gets thrown out of the Indian cricket team, but he persists owing to his BJ skills. never imagined he would use those skills on ICC officials. EDIT: just saw the list, they have pretty much included every new comer in the list Morgan will be winning it hands down Edited August 18, 2010 by godspeed4476
