In a statement released by Pietersen, SRH, who had shelled out Rs 2 crore for the top-order batsman during the 2015 auction, agreed to release him after ECB chairman Colin Graves' comments that Pietersen could be considered again, provided he commits to playing county cricket first. "The agreement allows Pietersen to miss the Sunrisers' entire league fixtures, but will see him recalled should the team reach the knockout stages of the competition (which commence on 19 May and finish with the final on 24 May)," read the statement. Pietersen, who was unceremoniously sacked from the England setup 14 months back, said in the statement that he is looking forward to the upcoming season and thanked the IPL franchise for their support. "I'm hugely grateful for all the support and understanding I've received from everyone at the Sunrisers and the IPL. My focus is now very much on the upcoming season in England and I'm absolutely determined to score as many runs as possible. They are Australians, 4 Time World Champions and most of them know How to handle pressure. Inspite of all, I hope India Wins. NZ vs IND will be EPIC and I won't mind any side wins. What a idiot team. Only won against minnows and WI, and then against SL due to SL brainfreeze. And then they thought they could be world champions Never seen such a delusional side. And that #ProteaFire campaign OMFG They even had a video where they played with kids etc. I think they should play in kids WC only, maybe they can win that. ABD (ABC actually) said that I hope our home fans are proud of us. Why BC? For winning against minnows and dominating WI? Never seen such a stupid player who speaks from his a*s. I hope we have a repeat of 2011 WC QFs. One SF has already gone according to script. Group A topper defeated Group B 2nd place, now its turn for Group B topper to defeat Group A topper. Both unbeaten teams should collide in finals, and may the best team win. Or it will be repeat of 2011 WC where both home teams clashed in finals and the one with home crowd won the WC. And they say he is the best fielder. Also their bowling was very weak, and then they made stupid changes like bringing in Philandor out of injury in place of Abott directly in semi. Also persisting with De c*ck, who failed regularly and succeeded only when chasing a small target of 133. Such decisions need to be taken very carefully. Also during the final moments, Duminy ran like a idiot on Beharadien and resulted in drop catch. WTF was he thinking? Hilarious sh*t.
