Yeah just because he bats well against minnows and in piddy IPL tournaments, That run out miss was also lolworthy. And they say he is the best fielder. Also their bowling was very weak, and then they made stupid changes like bringing in Philandor out of injury in place of Abott directly in semi. Also persisting with De c*ck, who failed regularly and succeeded only when chasing a small target of 133. Such decisions need to be taken very carefully. Also during the final moments, Duminy ran like a idiot on Beharadien and resulted in drop catch. WTF was he thinking? Hilarious sh*t. SA fielders were jumping and diving around like headless chickens

Two of the hilarious moments of SA fielding today  ...Duminy,Philander,De C*ck...sab dharti pe bojh hai..

what an innings by elliot though. :majesty:

reminded me of dhoni actually. nudge for singles, take the occassional boundary & back yourself in the last over - when the bowler is under tremendous stress - to get how much ever is needed, then finish with a 6 over long-on to put the cherry on top

it was NZ's weaker suit that got them through actually. their bowling is much stronger than their batting so that will give them even more confidence

all said & done though have to say SA were terribly unlucky with the rain. 1 is the score they would have set would've been 330+ easily with the wickets they had in hand & kind of batsmen to come. also the wet outfield must have made it completely difficult for bowlers & fielders to grip the ball

once the score was <300 just psychologically Nz would've felt better

the way first half of SA's innings went, thought luck was with them but things really turned around. B Mac using up boult's overs before d/l restrictions came in force was another bit of luck

ultimately though SA have no one to blame but themselves. forget the missed chances. it was their defensiveness in selection that cost them. they went with part timers for 5th bowlers because they wanted more batsmen, & even after that they picked a coming-back-from-injury philander over abbott (who had actually been bowling very well) just because he could bat a bit. i mean, i thought you guys had "the best batsmen in the world" ? how many batsmen do you want? :slap: this came back to bite them. ultimately they didnt need so many batsmen & didnt have enough frontline bowlers to put pressure.

That's why it will be easier for India (or in an off chance Aus :P ) to win the finals...Their bowling has been really shaky last two matches...Maybe it will improve @ MCG, however, their batting will get seriously hurt due to big boundaries...

Kohli is due for a big one...Just 1 century in the WC against pakis...

He should make it count on thursday..

I think Rohit will also bat well..He performs better against Aussies :fear:

I think he is averaging 60 in WC, with more then 300 runs, jeene do bechare ko. He will come good.

actually with the new rules am really appreciating the beauty of bigger grounds in Aus.

bc media keep putting down our grounds, the NZ grounds are so f**king much smaller. even edges go far into the crowds. this eden park shouldn't have even been a ground for s/f's. at MCG only the really confident batsmen can go aerial & even then its a big risk.

the bigger grounds really separate the men from the boys esp in things like fitness, power & timing

all said & done NZ will take time to adjust to the bigger grounds. forget this comp, dont know how many have actually played in them throughout their careers

India vice-captain Virat Kohli has revealed that the team went to work after the Test series and the tri-series, writing down things that needed improvement and has praised the bowlers' response to that with a bagful of wickets in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Talking to Cricket Australia, Kohli said the team had realised before the World Cup that the time to make error-corrections was urgent. "We felt as a group that we need to step up and make corrections now. We don't really have too much time because you can't afford to go into the World Cup thinking 'Okay, fine, we have things to work on but we can do it over a period of time'," he said, about the team's '180 degree turnaround'.

"We went to work immediately, wrote things down on what we need to improve on are. The way the bowlers have reacted and performed with composure, confidence and aggression has been wonderful to watch. You expect bowlers to step up if you want to beat quality sides in the world and the way they have done this in the World Cup is commendable," Kohli said.

The Indian vice-captain, who has been a thorn in the flesh of the Australian side, not only earlier in the summer when he scored four centuries in the Test series, said there could not be a better time for the team than to secure their first win over Australia on this tour than in the World Cup semi-final here on Thursday.

"It is an opportunity for us to do justice to the way we played so far in Australia. We haven't had the results but we have played the right kind of cricket. The difference now is how our bowling attack has come into play in the World Cup, taking 70 wickets in seven games. If we continue to do that, we have a great chance, come game day," he added.
