#ShameOnTimesNow: An absolute embarrassment to the profession of journalism

In a bid to be sensational, in a bid to follow the trend of the masses and to serve to the mood of the country, journalism has taken a massive beating today. India’s leading English news channel Times Now has been an absolute embarrassment to the profession of journalism. I say this without any subtlety not because I am from a rival news organisation, but because their work has put my identity as an Indian sports journalist to shame.

Describing India’s loss to Australia in the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2015 as ‘shameful’, Times Now has made a mockery of all that the team achieved, of everything the players toiled hard for. India lost, but they lost fighting hard. It wasn’t the captain, but Times Now who hasn’t been a sport in India’s defeat. Times Now disgusted the very word of ’sportsmanship’.

Lol. amount of choking by SA had they played second in Auckland would have surpassed all previous ocassions combined.

I think Indian team deserves a lot of respect, they are down under from last 4 months, away from families and friends. On top of this carry expectations like no other country.

7 matches on trot isn't a joke and especially when no batsmen has been able to perform consistently.

And first country to ever take 70 wickets in 7 matches

India was always loosing this once autralia were allowed to cross 300,the bowling at death and some of the decisions by Dhoni in field were inept at best.

Yadav and ashwin did well because they went in wuth an aggressive mindset, other than that bowling was serious downer in this game.Shami needed to be at his best today, but he was complete opposite today ,pace was down ,and why no yorkers?? Seriously,we ll never be a great side outside asia if we dont learn to bowl with an aggressive mindset.

About the batting cant really say much ,Dhawan should have tried to stay on for a while might have helped but really match was lost in the first innings.

look at people saying they 'deserve' to win. You guys do so much 'deserve deserve'. They were not even the worthy contenders of AUS so don't even deserve to be in the SF! Lost shamelessly. AUS deserved a better contender. Anyone could've given them a real fight. They lost by freakin 95 runs! that's huge!

They simply lost because of over-confidence. Media was all 'AUS ne pehle hi haath khade kar diye' BC haath nahi khade kiye, clarke ne bola ki India will be tough to beat. Machli se prediction karwa rahe BC, bol rahe India ka jeetna pakka hai. Dhawan is being Gabbar and showing farzi nautanki with his moustache. Muche hi upar karo tum.

I would have supprted Ind today as SA is already out but so much over-confidence  that let them down!

Despite all the jokes, I still say this. Kohli is the ONLY world class batsman in India. No one comes close to his class. He may not be SRT but India is heavily dependent on him. The moment he was out, I knew they were gonna lose. Dhoni, DHawan, Rahane, Raina etc. All these are over-confident home pitch bullies. They don't even come close to Kohli.

sh*t man :(:samui: :samui:

He got emotional when he was asked about being available for 2019 WC but he said will take it to 2016 T20 WC and later decide whether he will be available or not....

He is still the best Indian Captain

He was very close to immortality & be the best captain to ever live

But the team is simply not it was in 2011

But if we had the same team as 2011, we would have not even crossed group stages...
