Rohit Sharma has been a flop show with the bat for some time now, Parthiv Patel can bat better than him at current form.

Just hope Kohli/Raina whoever plays does a good job in the middle order.

Australia's tour to india in erm... 04-05 i think, a 4 test match series. The one before the one before the last one. It was the series where michael clark took 6-9 in the 3rd innings of the 3rd test match in mumbai. we lost the series 1-2

Ganguly was the capt. India were down 0-1 after losing the 1st match and drawing the 2nd; The 3nd test match was in nagpur or baroda i think. The pitch was made a green top with as high a bounce that can be offered on indian soil. I remember there being a great ruckus over it, mainly because there were allegations that it has been done because of backroom politics in the bcci. The bcci president at that time was facing mutiny and the local state board where the 2nd test match was being held was against the bcci head, hence they made a pitch that was opposite to indian desires. Jason gillespie was found saying it was the most austeralian looking pitch he had seen out of australia.

curiously, our gallant dada excused himself out of the match on the eve of the first day, citing a mysterious illness, surely his legendary love for good bouncy fast bowling had nothing to do with it :giggle:

dravid captained the side and we were blown to smithereens by mc'grath, gillespie and lee/kasprowicz; losing the match badly inside 3or 4 days. That was the first time auz won a seires in india after a long time.

To negate this 'outrage' the final match in mumbai was played on a literal dustbowl, we won that in 4 days. auz needed little over 100 to win, a murli kartik inspired indian side bowled the out for 80 odd.

I am typing all this just by memory. Concerned people can check the facts from cricinfo archives, i may be a bit off on dates but the matches DID happened, we DID play on a bouncy green top in india and we WERE owned on that.

and yes i was a huge cricket nerd back then.

P.S. ok i just saw you asked in the last 'couple of years'. my bad.

:giggle: Dada was a smart guy

South Africa's bowling attack is currently as good as that of Pakistan ( late 90s - early 2000s ). All they lack is a good spinner.

Steyn, Morkel, Parnell, andTsotsobe :fear:. Even Kallis will feature in the bowling attack when he is playing.
