Black_Hawk
Update: We have officially started losing overs if there is a resumption today. We will lose one over for every four minutes. Weather Update: The sun is out but it's still drizzling.
AtheK
13 minutes ago, Right said: this would be shittiest thing to happen we get 46 overs and then it rains and it becomes 20 over one and doesn't resume and we found ourselves short. f**k that We wont need to be on 148 in that case, but around 80/
eddy4823
If India gets 20 overs to play, they have to chase 148. If 30, it's gonna be 200 I guess. Should be easy for Ind.

While chasing, India will have to make sure they have wickets because PAR SCORE increases with loss of wickets.
KnackChap
Better hope that the 1992 mein bhi aisa hua tha joke doesn't come to bite our a*s. Even back then the best team of the tournament lost the semi-finals due to bad weather and the revised target.
TAZ
Even in the best case scenario we might get to play in hours time from now, Which means 75 mins (19 overs), Will it be a 31 overs contest or 27 overs ? Overs deduction is calculated on basis of 50 over or 46 over ?
Black_Hawk
Still drizzling in Manchester... Meanwhile in London it's warm and sunny, watching Wimbledon for now

roun90
So we lose 1 over every 4 minutes right? Any idea by what time (Indian Time) will we loose 31 overs and the referee will deem today's game unplayable?
silentassassin
If it rains for another 30-40 mins we start tomorrow from where we left off. if it stops and match starts in an hour or so, we’ll be chasing 148 - 200 in 20-30 overs.. Let it rain for 40 mins

Black_Hawk
Update: 17:00 Local Time, 16:00 GMT, 21:30 IST: Rain has gotten heavier, Kaushik pings. I reckon the officials might just decide to defer this game to tomorrow with New Zealand finishing their innings and set-up an Indian chase

silentassassin
Match has to start 11:05 ist for a 20 over game. They need atleast 45 mins to 1 hr to clear the covers and water. Apparently rain has gotten heavier. So, guess thats it for today..
AtheK
ASeems if inspection does not happen in next 45 mins game will be deferred to tomorrow. Forecast for tomorrow is not good either.
Black_Hawk
Despite the two-hour extension, we needed this game to end by 8 PM (Local). Assuming a 20-over chase, India's innings must start in the region around 6:30PM (Local) and the staff need at least an hour to get the ground ready, we might be close to pushing this game to tomorrow.
