I still remember that series in England where he got nicknamed The Wall - truly impenetrable defense. Younger aspiring cricketers should closely study his technique. @Athek - You shook hands with him? When? once at airport

dullu
Best described by Harsha Bhogle in his piece: "The Wolf who lived for the pack"...The least disruptive sporting figure around, someone who took up opening and keeping when he was asked to, for the sake of the team; and someone who at the age of 38, walked out to bat within 10 minutes of playing a marathon innings last year..... An absolute legend.... Probably the last of those classical test match batsmen Will miss him in this age of T20

Bubba Fuzz
To put grit over beauty, team over self, challenge before rejection, humility before arrogance, that is what he stood for. He single handedly won us the series... A true Legend... Thanks to the IPL we can see these people for a few more years "IPL inbreds" as my Professor would say india will never find another opener like rahul dravid. if you are referring to Trent Bridge and the Oval. His average otherwise as an opener stands at 28. Btw, here is an excellent write-up by ex-cricnfo Sidvee: http://sidveeblogs.wordpress.com/2012/03/09/goodbye-dravid/ Edited March 9, 2012 by Bubba Fuzz
Maximus
Any words cant even begin to scratch the surface of the kind of contribution he made for Indian cricket. You were simply fantabulous Mr. Dravid. Best of luck for life after cricket and would love to see you contribute to Indian cricket in some other form in the near future. Stevie G
Rahul Dravid IMO our Best Test Batsmen and a rue gentleman. Nowadays people throw away the Legend line for just about anybody but this guy deserves the tag more than any other . His Innings at Adelaide is 1 of the best ever by any batsmen,he even keeped for us in the amazing WC 2003 . True Legend and it was a privilege to be able to watch Rahul Dravid teach us how to bat for the last 16 years.
