MoonStruckHorrors
He's a god that has served team India for most of his life & will continue to do so. No one can match his greatness, not even the greatest cricketers of all-time. Haters are jealous of him because they fail at life, they're not as good cricketer as him. They have done nothing for the country. Gordon Freeman never speaks. Continuing their miserable existence is all they've ever done in this life. They don't have the right to even speak about Sachin. He's a god & deserves a temple - no - many temples. Haters gonna hate. Darth Vader is the father of Luke. Sachin is the most awesome player I've ever seen & I'll give my life to defend his honor. Bharat Ratna? He should be choosing the people who get Bharat Ratna. So what he's playing even if he's nearing his 40 & lost his touch. He's still the same person that has won India so much matches. India losing the matches when Sachin scores a hundred? Now look, that's a misconception you know. Now GTFO, Imma watch this awesome match where Sachin scored his 100th century. The match where they crush the opponents like nothing. And when the match is over Imma light some fireworks to celebrate this awesome victor.................WHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAATTTT? Source : The arguments people use to defend Sachin on facebook, from the top of my mind.
Sufyan
Since when strike rate of 79 is bad. Its quite good in fact. The problem is the lack of intent to take the team to the best possible score in 50 overs when you have 8 wickets in hand.He could have attacked when he was on 87 or 90 but he wasted precious deliveries in getting to his 100 and only started to look for big hits the very next ball after he reached the landmark. The loss is a fitting reward for this selfish effort. Stevie G
i've always given Sachin the benefit of the doubt until today...to say that he was being selfish today, especially considering the time he took to reach his 100, isn't politically correct but it isn't wrong either...one thing's for sure though, he's lost his edge and will only continue to risk holding the team back... it has become very obvious that fate has other plans for him if he's a genuine sportman that i believe he is then he should call for a meeting today, or before the next match atleast and humbly announce his retirement...farewell Sachin i sincerely hope fate has the same success in store for you after you hang your boots! Do u know India have won 70% games in which Sachin has scored a century and have won 59% in which he has not Does not reek of selfishness to me I agree that he should have retired and retiring after the WC would have been sublime but since he did not then I see no point in retiring now till atleast he keeps on scoring runs

dullu
here is one aspect no one really tries to consider..... Tendulkar himself said that its a huge relief for him because everywhere he goes; restaurants/cafes/countries; its always the same Q: when will the 100th come? Probably he can play whatever is left of his career in a more free way than everybody (our media is at the front row) would have allowed him Edited March 16, 2012 by dullu

I have never got to a 90 while playing cricket so i wouldn't know ....j/k Dont know about me but a Dhoni or a Dravid would never have cared for their personal milestone in his place i guess At least its out of the way now but it was anything but memorable. dante77
but still when you have 9 wickets left after 30 overs with a batting powerplay and you have Dhoni, Raina, R Sharma, pathan sitting right beside you. 290 is just not good enough. Of course, blame goes to bowlers too. Dinda - 18 runs in an over, pathan - 17 runs and praveen - 14 runs in a very crucial time :|

Dravid wouldnt care Im certain But Dravid never had the pressure of 1 billion people wanting a 100th 100 . His reaction after the 100 shows just how much pressure he was under . He was selfish today as he wanted the mental pressure off him/ Do I blame him for our loss ?Yes Partly ? Is the 100 bigger than the loss ? No Is he solely responsible for the loss ? No Is he Selfish player ? No (every 1 can have 1 bad day IMO )

The 100th 100 was never supposed to be memorable for him .It was just a relief for him . Its memorable for the fans who call Sachin a God and care more about him than the team. Its fans like them who have made him a glory hunter and a selfish guy .(I miss Jiggy ) Edited March 16, 2012 by Thank u Rahul Dravid

Does anything come to mind? Ever heard of the three lies? Lies, damned lies and statistics Most people, especially the impressionable ones, immediately shower praise on Sachin. Yes he does deserve a lot of that praise. The more time you spend drooling all over those stats and the easier it becomes for you to question the veracity of these records. And all it takes is a slump on Sachin's part to do so. I respect Sachin because he genuinely loves the sport and he's spent a lifetime battling critics and cricketers all the while maintaining world-class figures(averages/SR's) on par with the rest of the cricketing greats. He's probably the only role model left in our country from whom our future generation can a learn a lot; a role-model who teaches us that everything has its price.

Leander Paes? I am sure every player who plays for India genuinely loves the game and the adulation, fame and riches overshadows whatever criticism and brickbats they get.Sachin has a lived a privileged life(which he deserves),so i think he couldn't care less about his critics, let alone "battling them".No need to give him the sympathy card.I would rather take a few more tournaments won over "maintaining world-class figures(averages/SR's) on par with the rest of the cricketing great"
