Sufyan
Ya I bet if Sachin would have got out in the 35th over Both of them together would get India past the 350 mark then? About wasting balls Dhobi has been doing it since time immemorial now. Dhoni should be last guy you criticize in ODI's.He is brilliant in this format and almost impossible to dislodge. Strike rate of 180 in the last two games

Sachin batting slow should be the least of concerns for team India who could not defend a score of 289 against B'Desh Edited March 17, 2012 by Vip3r

Sachin batting slow should be the least of concerns for team India who could not defend a score of 289 against B'Desh Talking on current form,if you want to pull out career statistics then Dhoni beats him there as well (Avg 51 SR 88) at no 6 which is the toughest batting position to play in ODI's. Vip3r
which is the toughest batting position to play in ODI's. Is when you are facing Wasim Akram when almost half your squad has made guest appearance in the 22 yards Dhoni beats him there as well assuming he will continue to play like that for double the number of innings and pardon my ignorance playing at 6 does mean that you have more chances of staying not out through the innings? comparing Dhoni with Sachin.............epic Edited March 17, 2012 by Vip3r
silentassassin
My posts were not to to indicate that he dint play slow yesterday.. I posted that since lot of people posting that he's selfish and he scores a 100 and we dont win the match... there's no point arguing about it...He'll shut every1's mouth 2moro and in the finals dA FUQ everyone is yapping about? First you mount colossal pressure on the guy to get his ton Then you ridicule him for wasting balls, after that if by any chance if India won yesterday the team would always have been Bangladesh. Who stopped Ravindra Jadeja/Rohit Sharma from scoring runs yesterday? This guy carried the weight of 10 jokers in the team since the 90s in various permutations and combination till the time of dada and Dravid and after that as well. Yet when the day came when someone had to cover for him everyone chose to hide behind the curtain of his being selfish. He was not the joke yesterday the joke was on the morons who could not cover for him nor defend 289 against B'Desh The joke is on Dhoni for sidelining talent like Tiway and other talent in favor of jokers like Jadeja who single handedly lost us the T20 world cup. ask yourself this, If India had to chase a 350 + score in the ASIA Cup Final who will you want to face the first delivery? Remind me of a great ODI innings that he has played against the likes of Akram and Waqar in their prime. I cant say how long Dhoni will play but at the same stage of their career, Dhoni is a far better player than him in terms of effectiveness. There are two ways to look at it,one like you said, the other is he doesn't have time to settle and has to play big shots as soon as gets to the crease. Conversely, openers have the PP advantage, easier to score boundaries.
Right
Is wasim akram still playing cricket? Did he play yesterday in Bangladesh side? Stop bringing up decade old stuff. Yes, can't compare dhoni with sachin, dhoni is a good, sharp cricketer but he has no class.

Bangladesh did not have an Izaz Ahmed or a Saeed Anwar either then how come no Indian bowler could defend the target. The game is called cricket has bowlers and batsmen Edited March 17, 2012 by Vip3r

Right
there are at least 5 players with god given places in the team, if that is not enough we have baraatis from CSK. You can be sure that Vijay would be drafted in for the next tour. Tiwari, mishra and rehane can kiss their careers good bye.
