Stevie G Posted May 29, 2012 Report Share Posted May 29, 2012 Very well said.Some of the SRK hate in this thread is irrational.You may hate his films or his acting abilities but he hasn't done us any harm personally.Not trying to defend what he did at Wankhede,but everyone gets into altercations and we still don't know what actually transpired there.Lets give the guy a break,he deserves to celebrate his team's win. The guy has suffered for 5 years,he became the most hated man in Kolkata when he had the balls to drop off Dada and now when he has won it he deserves to celebrate the moment .Did he go overboard ? And most of them should agree that irrespective of KKR not winning the earlier seasons, Shahrukh has been the factor who had taken the initiative to make IPL a grand success since Day 1 when the league started in 2007 / 2008. Lalit Modi has accepted the fact that it was SRK who first wholly accepted the IPL inception and Lalit Modi's vision in Indian Cricket and it was he who took the initiative of discussing with other people and bringing them to the Franchisee tender process. Lalit Modi and Rajiv Shukla have themselves told that Shahrukh was the one who was intrumental in getting BCCI to increasing the number of participating IPL franchises to 10 (from 8) in 2011. Shah Rukh was the troubleshooter-in-chief when a standoff between Sahara—the principal sponsors of Team India and BCCI, threatened the very core of the game in India. Sahara Group Chairman Subrata Roy was quoted as saying, "With all his positivity, Shah Rukh Khan motivated everybody by going out of his way, in the interest of IPL and Cricket." Some people have been talking about Mamta Banerjee / KKR / Kolkata People going overboard on the celbrations. Shahrukh or KKR never asked Mamta Didi or people of Kolkata to felicitate them. It is just that after 5 hard seasons of IPL, people of Kolkata are enjoying the success of KKR winning the tournament. I am sure other franchisees would have done the same if they had won. Come on Deccan Chargers and Chennai Super Kings too had a road show when they won IPL. It is just that some people are jealous of the success KKR has got this season. Have you seen any leading cricketers publicly congratulating KKR / SRK / Gambhir. I had all my life adored Tendulkar for his passion of cricket. But has anyone even after 3 days seen Tendulkar wishing or congratulating team KKR. Tendulkar has never liked SRK. If this team was owned say by a Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan or Salman Khan, then Tendulkar would have wished them. Except the owners of Rajasthan Royala, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab, no other team has wished them. I have not seen even Mukesh and Nita Ambani who have always been close friends of Shahrukh and celebrating SRK & Nita's birthdays together wishing KKR. It was even surprising that Morne Morkel wished to support Super Kings just b'cos his younger brother was playing for Chennai Super Kings and also KKR had defeated Delhi in the first playoffs. What he did not realize was the trashing Delhi received at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. I feel there are some sadists in the franchisees who do not wish to enjoy each others success. Gambhir has rightly always told the entire duration and he will keep doing so. That the captain is as good as is team. Not more nor less. It is the team which makes you a better leader and not a leader who makes a better team. That is what KKR has shown this season. I bow my head in front of not individuals but the KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS for what they have done for BCCI and IPL. There has to be a reason its pretty much unanimously agreed except ofcourse by hope, he has just lost his mind with his age. IPL is over and we don't have anything else to discuss, so ya SRK is monkey chaap pan masala, and he sells. But he is Injurious to people WTF has SRK Done to you that you keep Posting Bull sh*t about him every now then.I just dont get the point.Same Question to Amber(The Rock).Why Itna sara Hate for a Person. And regarding the owner, CSK is the only team (If i am not wrong) where the focus will be always on the players when the match is being played. Regarding commentator, are you sure about this. Have you put your TV to mute when Sunil Gavaskar was commentating when Mumbai Indians were playing? jadeja is frm tn? u must have not seen vijay? he is too cocky for his own good i remember watching him he was fielding nearing boundary a wicket fell he was making mocking celebratory gestures towards the stand in which even i was sitting whats with ashwin these days always angry at non striker i guess aus tour did this to him dhoni raina badri and the foreign guys are bearable sunil is biased when it comes to certain mumbai players esp rohit but so is he when india is playing l-srk is has undefined love for csk hardly any such affection for team blue?
