supersim
I guess the mods are gunning for the 500 posts limit rather than 250 or some because the offender might have had a decent post count that was less than 500. But I feel sad at the stringent rules that have been put up. I've been a member of GI since the proboard days, have participated in two GI game offers and done two trades with positive feedback. I'm even wearing the GI T-shirt as I type this. But I guess going by my post count and MT's words that still doesn't make me a genuine GI member The administration and moderation of this forum has been awesome so far, but somehow I see it transforming into a corporate like setup where 'The Man' has the final word. Guys, do what you gotta do to prevent ugly incidents like these but don't make decisions that affect GI's accessibility to new/dormant members. very nicely said. totally agree with u. btw becoz of that person so many ppl will suffer. If you have an alternative suggestion thats impartial, please go ahead and post it here. Guys, do what you gotta do to prevent ugly incidents like these but don't make decisions that affect GI's accessibility to new/dormant members. Which is why this thread is open for suggestions. And GI is accessible to everyone. The threads and the blog are open to all registered members. Certain features like the Trading Post, GI's pre-orders and the Library have certain entry criteria. If you limit your definition of GI'a accessibility only to free stuff then yes, you have an eligibility problem.

Hot-Drake-Pixel
Wow, this seems to be the hottest topic tonight and how can I not contribute to this. I suggest: 1> 400+ post 2> Zero negative feedback 3> Atleast 2+ve feeback or, The participant must have traded earlier with the person offering free stuff. supersim
yeah damn u chandranil ! so is the rule still 500 posts AND 3 positive feedback?
shaklebolt
MT, I almost knew your reply.. but my point, as I said earlier, wasn't undermining the person giving away the free stuff. I mean these santas are awesome.. but MY point was, why such difference between min count for trading post and minimum count for free offers ??? A person with 50 counts is good enough to trade ! Free offer is kind of trade too na ?
strategy
^^ guess i am out of the marcus fenix deal!!! but i resently joined GI, how can i have 500 posts!! and i cant make myself to spam( to ncrease my post count)............ I have an idea RULES: 1. Minimum 150 posts 2. Avarage post per day 2 3. 1 +ve feedback. 4. Zero -ve feedback (IF there is a negative feedback 5 +ve feedbacks to nutralise it!) 5. Good reputation in GI.(can be confirmed bu Mods or Admins) 6. User in caution list not allowed. I think these rules are good, as your rules are a bit discouraging to new members !! What say!!?? I suggest: 1> 400+ post 2> Zero negative feedback 3> Atleast 2+ve feeback or, The participant must have traded earlier with the person offering free stuff. its difficult to set the post count be it 250 , 400, 500 , etc. Nobody would like to be excluded from the free deals. Cant we all vote to set the rules? (if not us then atleast senior members or somethingh?)

THIS is the problem: Running the risk of alienating people who haven't and would never think of doing anything wrong, like Gautam and ghb. Fire Wolf
chandranil's trading post i think he wanted to make some serious money here.. Lol, actually that console was on sale on another forum, he was selling on behalf of the owner of the console and wanted to make profit on top of it
MarketTantrik
and the item giver should be the one to set the final set of rules The member running the offer is free to keep whatever rules he / she wishes. But that would have to be specifically mentioned in the opening post and the gifting member will have no grounds to complain to the GI staff about the winners flouting norms. In all other cases these proposed rules will apply and they have been framed keeping in mind our past discussions with members who have been gifting stuff about why they are doing what they do. castiel
c i hav been here for a few months now and if mods can see it i log in here everyday and try to contribute ,but u cant judge the contribution solely on the basis of post he made it depends on how is he able to help other people rather than to increase post counts ,and doin it to regulate sum peoples like these undermines interest of all other , and there r only few members on this forum having this much of post count who actualy want such offers cause they r already ahead of us in gaming segment ,there r a lot many rules on this forum ,rules shud be made but actual interest of the members shud be taken into consideration ,u cud start a poll in the forum regarding a rule or any new idea like that but jus takin post count as a thumb rule is a litle naive ,i cant change ur mindset regarding this thing but m surely hoping that u think it thru once more and apply the necessary changes in this rule making system
