New Rules for Free Offers

well i would like to add...

make the post count important...250 or 500 whtever suits the mods...

secondly people who give free things should not be mistaken as they have money to blow away......anyone who has worked to earn a single rupee knows that very well how hard it is to earn it... ..and anything they give its just out of sheer love of this gaming community...so that people can enjoy things and its brings us together...

trading feedback is important and i suggest whatever feedback score is best decided by mods they should stick by it...many people may disagree...but in life you got to have some rules and principles to follow...so its entirely upto the mods....

and i genuinely believe we have a very good bunch of guys who run this forum and its their decision in end...please dont get swayed by opinions of people complaining etc...its very likely that not everyone will like new rules..but this is how it should be...

its really hurting and makes you feel like a idiot when you come acrosss such things..that such cheap mentality guys are there..but thats how i guess life is...but atleast to prevent further incidents like this rules got to be there..you like it or not

THIS is the problem: Running the risk of alienating people who haven't and would never think of doing anything wrong, like Gautam and ghb.

keyo dude..thanks for the support

its disheartening to know that stuff like helping people out with contest hints, trying to pick up games from palika for others, helping fellow members with credit card issues and similar things for people you haven't even ever met in real life mean squat in the eyes of the moderators...all that matters is how many screenshots of games you've posted :hypocrite:

c i hav been here for a few months now and if mods can see it i log in here everyday and try to contribute ,but u cant judge the contribution solely on the basis of post he made it depends on how is he able to help other people rather than to increase post counts ,and doin it to regulate sum peoples like these undermines interest of all other , and there r only few members on this forum having this much of post count who actualy want such offers cause they r already ahead of us in gaming segment ,there r a lot many rules on this forum ,rules shud be made but actual interest of the members shud be taken into consideration ,u cud start a poll in the forum regarding a rule or any new idea like that but jus takin post count as a thumb rule is a litle naive ,i cant change ur mindset regarding this thing but m surely hoping that u think it thru once more and apply the necessary changes in this rule making system

I empathize with your situation. I really do, because I'm aware about your activities here.

The issue is that there are several members who, like you, log in everyday and participate meaningfully. The difference is that some of them have been doing this consistently for more than a year and a few have been doing this since GI's old avatar.

It takes time and effort to build up cred and the members I have referenced above have had to put in theirs as well.

MT i personally think those are the members who have contributed a lot to forums without looking to buy or sell stuff...we should consider them as a matter oof fact the trading post rule should come into consideration if the member who won has a negative feedback.

I totally agree with that.

Running IVG Offers, collecting money from members, hauling multiple copies of games from the shop to our home, packing, labeling and shipping them,

in addition to

stuff like helping people out with contest hints, trying to pick up games from palika / XYZ for others, helping fellow members with credit card issues and similar things for people you haven't even ever met in real life

PLUS

posting info on games, screenshots, industry news, writing articles, doing reviews, sorting issues between members, moderating this site, paying for this website.

Dont go down that road dude. Its not becoming of you. You are taking this personally when its not a personal issue.

So what about the current [Free] threads? On hold for now? Or do they get reopened with the rules as is?

On hold till Sunday. We would like all members to come forward with their suggestions in this thread for the proposed new rules over today and tomorrow.

yaar rules are not bad but such rules shud be made keeping everyone in mind and not only few persons ,a general rule shud b made regarding this rather than rule on every terminal of the forum afterall its public forum yaar ,if i want to go strictly by rules than gaming isnt the right place for me i think ,games are a way to get relief form all tensions ,rules are for a different of life not this ,although i agree that some people do exploit things but they r not in such gr8 majority as people here with below 500 posts jus revise that number ,and as i know chandranil is a nice guy new to gaming ,he jus tried to xchange the game and not to sell it for wrongful gain ,the people running this forum may be very gud (though i dont know ny of them) but this dosent mean that each and every rule they make is just atleast i don fell that way regarding this free offer rule(only for this rule) ,

and killzone everyone dont do regular trade ,if mods r present on the forum 24*7 than they shud know that there r peoples who contribute the best they can and try to help peoples to but dont like to post unnecessarily ,was jus my view though ,i can only argue as a member

this might b but did u read the other things also i wrote

as u said u wud b gettin suggestions mine is

u shud start a poll for rule making where by only members with post more than 500 or above cud participate and based on result of such poll u shud make new rules

the decision u take suggestion from other members is very gud ,this is a very wise decision

mt, a couple of posts back i have mentioned that i think the GI moderators are doing a great job and i do appreciate it...no question asked

and its not

really that

personal...in the end, it is the forum members who ALSO make GI a great place...be it those who give away free stuff, bring up any kind of interesting topics (even the DID YOU KNOW thread), are ever-present in the shoutbox to provide constant amusement, etc etc...but to think of them any less than people who post game screenshots (your words) or are eager enough to buy/sell a couple of games on the TP is unfair..again IMHO

Do you really want to start this vicious circle?
