Skill up review is weird af, says I recommend but says quite a lot of negative things in review :|

Could be like FF16 situation where he can suggest a lot of ways to improve.

Yet overall might be worth a playthrough.

except he recommends the game as per the title, but in the review, he is clearly treating it as a palate cleanser of sorts.

This game is hammering consoles hard. Looks like UE5 engine insanely demanding. Poor Series S drops to PS2 era resolution.

I guess we need a mid gen upgrade for UE5 now

Why not say it otherwise...

Unreal Engine is always a chugfest/stutterfest. And is always heavy on any systems (including previous versions). It baffled me when console gamers rejoiced when some games were said to be on UE5. As if they thought UE is the best engine out there...

It never was. It's accessible to everyone, that's why people have a misconception this engine is amazing.

Jedi Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy are still a stutterfest and have issues with performance....they both are on UE4 (Heavily modified).

I dont think UE5 is designed for current gen of hardware. I can totally understand now why Sony keen to release a mid gen upgrade.  MS will definitely follow suit.

Played the first 3 chapters of the game. It's part of the free trial they're promoting. No EA Play needed.

I felt like it's a pretty basic shooter. Okay'ish, overall. The whole 'magic spells instead of bullets' doesn't make much of a difference. The initial charm wears off soon enough.

They've tried to cram a lot of lore, but it's just not compelling enough. The writing could be so much better.

UE5 needs more work to be properly optimised for consoles, I think. The game looks really great at certain parts, but I also noticed some rough edges here and there. The quality of cinematics is ace, though! No HDR is a BIG downer. Really wondering what was the reason for that!?

-----

If anyone's considering buying this, pro tip: download the free trial. There's a way to launch the store from within the game and you get 55% off on the price of the Digital Deluxe Edition. Comes up to around ₹2.6k'ish. The standard edition of the game is currently on a Black Friday sale for about ₹2.2k.
