Dante's Inferno

Yeah it wont make any sense at all. I mean maybe Purgatory they can bend a bit. But Paradiso will be a tad bit too much. I mean it wont be inspired anymore by Dante's work. Maybe God wants Beatrice for himself and Dante cant let that happen...so he goes after God himself...which is surprisingly similar to another game we know...hey now it all makes sense :fear:

PS3 Version Of Dante's Inferno Will Be The "Divine Edition"

EA must be having a little holiday tryst with the PlayStation 3. First, the PSN receives the Dante's Inferno playable demo a full two weeks before it hits the Xbox 360 on December 24, and now this-

Today, EA and developer Visceral Games have announced the Dante's Inferno Divine Edition, exclusively for the PS3. This isn't a special or limited edition separate from the standard edition; all PS3 owners who purchase the game will bring home this version. Included with the game are developer commentaries, a Wayne Barlowe digital art book, the official soundtrack, and a digital version of the translated novel, Dante Alighieri's "Inferno." Well, to be fair, that sounds like 1/3 of the actual novel, "The Divine Comedy," of which "Inferno" is only the first part. And yes, you get it all for the same price of $59.99 so it's not like they're giving us all these extra goodies for an added cost. Said Jonathan Knight, Dante's Inferno Executive Producer:

"We are thrilled to offer an exclusive game pack for PlayStation 3 gamers. The PlayStation platform has a long history of delivering AAA action/adventure games. Adding Dante’s Inferno to that rich catalogue is very exciting for the team. And with the demo now available on the PlayStation Network, players can finally get a taste of what awaits them in the full game on Feb 9th."

Let me see if any of you agree with this theory as to why EA is giving the PS3 preferential treatment with this game: we all know it's a definite God of War-type game; EA has even admitted that GoW was an inspiration and they actually appreciate the comparison. Now, GoW is and has always been a PS exclusive so perhaps EA is thinking a game like Dante's Inferno will automatically appeal to more PlayStation owners. I dunno...what do you think? Seems plausible to me.

Only one former-Spartan-warlord-turned-God-later-fallen-from-divinity-then-wants-to-get-rid-of-the-Gods-person has the balls for that... and we all know his name pretty well.

Looks like Europe is getting a better version of Dante's Inferno and this is for both consoles if im not wrong. In addition to all the Divine edition goodies, it comes with an Isaac Clarke skin, 15 minutes of animated feature and an extra documentary...also comes on 2 discs.

Thats the source. Starting up demo now. :D

Got through the demo just now. Its around 35 minutes if you include the cutscenes, but there is a lot of gameplay over here. The story is intriguing and after playing this im tempted to know more. Why is Beatrice faulting Dante, how does he escape death etc

Gameplay wise, yes this is exactly like God of war, only difference here is you have a different weapon to wield. Everything from the button placement to the fixed camera and the type of action going on will remind you of God of War...however there are somethings which I personally think will make this better. First of all, I was wondering why they are making a big deal out of the 60 frames per second thing but after playing I do understand. I went back and played the God of War 3 demo as well for direct comparision and I cant help but notice that Dante's Inferno feels a lot for smoother when it comes to the action...the difference is profound.

Another thing which struck me was the dodge. While Kratos goes for his roll, Dante's dodge is noticeably different and actually feels better while getting the job done. As soon as you dodge you can dodge right back in and keep attacking. Once again maybe its the 60 frames thing working its magic, but then I thought that God of War 3 was also going to be 60 fps.

Anyhow, Dante's Inferno looks amazing, the story feels good, the combat is tight and I cant help but keep bringing this up, it just feels super smooth at 60fps. Dont ignore this like some God of War clone...this game deserves a thought.

Well me too downloaded the demo...All i can say its not a god of war's exact clone..but definitely a ripoff...Let it be the gameplay or the finishing moves..n slightly the plot of storyline too...

Besides played jz once so i think i shud give it another 2-3 tries....

Besides

The Fight with Reaper was awesome

I like a well done clone. Look at the number of Diablo II clones floating around - Titan Quest, Dungeon Siege, Torchlight - all very good games to play. They help pass the time.

I will pick this one up - probably just to laugh at how they've butchered an epic poem.

Playing through the demo was like "Oh GOW..... hmmm, now if i simply flick the Right Analog Stick when the baddie strikes, n follow up with a L2+Square.... oh!! there it is, just like GOW.... Yay!!!!"

But it is Dante.......

o-ho.

With so many games out, u can say every game is a clone of some game. Only thing why Dante's inferno is generating so much heat is cause of the close release date of both.

Even Gow (as epic as it is) borrowed stuff. Do any of u remember a game called Rygar on ps2 ? I can see the similarity of heavy nature of the combat that gow has with it. Gow took a bit from Rygar, a bit from DMC a bit from onimusha

Heavenly sword borrowed its whole concept of blood thirsty sword from Shinobi (hardest f**king game i have ever played btw. yes harder than demons souls). DMC pinched from old 2d shinobis, onimusha and blood omens, however it was the first game to make hack n slash mainstream with proper mixture if epic, awesomeness and badassery.

Point is, read Killroy's impressions and dont pass on the game as a gow wanna be, for all we know, it might end up being a 9 to kratos' 10.

I for one am fooken pumped up for DI, wont play the demo cause, well, i like to be unspoiled but will be reading the impressions like a hawk.
