achilles
Even Gow (as epic as it is) borrowed stuff. Do any of u remember a game called Rygar on ps2 ? I can see the Rygar was fkn epic. but i don't think GOW has anythn from that game. aaaand.. DI 60 fps of teh PS3.. somehow i b3lieve Sony had a hand in it
Nemo
Rygar was a hack n slash, had a heavy, slow combat compared to onimusha, blood omen and dmc that came after it. It had greek myths in it. I am not saying gow is its rip off, but it definitely borrowed ideas from it. greek setting, weapon tied with chains that u swing to hurt enemies, they even have that "HITS" flashes in the right side of the screen. There was one other game, set in Rome, u played with two characters, i am forgetting the name and it too had gow like combat. but it came after. I enjoyed that too. point being, there is no harm is copying, every other title does so. IF the gmae itself is good, there should not be any other worry. KnackChap
Personally I don't give a damn about originality as long as the game is fun to play & the demo was good fun . there is a difference between being inspired from another title and shamelessly ripping it off and DI Clearly falls in the 2nd category, and its not just the combat mechanics, controls, HUD etc that's been borrowed, even the presentation in DI is similar to the gow series. Remember the graphic novel styled 2d cutscenes in gow whenever kratos recalled his past? Guess what, its the same here too.
Keyofx
Got through the demo just now. Its around 35 minutes if you include the cutscenes, but there is a lot of gameplay over here. The story is intriguing and after playing this im tempted to know more. Why is Beatrice faulting Dante, how does he escape death etc Gameplay wise, yes this is exactly like God of war, only difference here is you have a different weapon to wield. Everything from the button placement to the fixed camera and the type of action going on will remind you of God of War...however there are somethings which I personally think will make this better. First of all, I was wondering why they are making a big deal out of the 60 frames per second thing but after playing I do understand. I went back and played the God of War 3 demo as well for direct comparision and I cant help but notice that Dante's Inferno feels a lot for smoother when it comes to the action...the difference is profound. Another thing which struck me was the dodge. While Kratos goes for his roll, Dante's dodge is noticeably different and actually feels better while getting the job done. As soon as you dodge you can dodge right back in and keep attacking. Once again maybe its the 60 frames thing working its magic, but then I thought that God of War 3 was also going to be 60 fps. Anyhow, Dante's Inferno looks amazing, the story feels good, the combat is tight and I cant help but keep bringing this up, it just feels super smooth at 60fps. Dont ignore this like some God of War clone...this game deserves a thought. Not bad at all. I'd be downloading now if it wasn't so damned short.. :|
Aftrunner
^^30 minutes on a demo is pretty acceptable for a 1GB download IMO. Thats more than you would get in most games. Anyway is this up on XBL or just PSN for the moment?

achilles
just played the demo.. and this is the killer new IP EA has been looking for. b4 playing this game, i felt nothing beats blades of chaos. and i still feel the same. but this game is all sorts of awesome. Dante is looking like a bad a*s already. plus, showing the finger to death was ballistik!! it's like ramming your worst fear (for most ppl) head on and then saying.. "i tol ya not to mess with me" some of the things i found better than GOW : implementation of magic. the holy cross controlling the big a*s whatever he's called. (breathing fire and sh*t ) visceral games have my money. for the CE.
