Dante's Inferno

Reggie is the Mario to my Luigi. He's the closest thing to a brother, and games like no one's business (and his wife approves! for the most part...)

I helped set up his gaming room, and most of my ROTF toys are now sitting in his house. We is tight, yo.

Also, I take back what I said about it being identical to the HD brothers in terms of level progression. While it does feature the same set of events, not all of them are playable. For example:

after the encounter with the ferryman, Dante jumps off with a mounted beastman and proceeds to climb on a set of pillars that are falling apart.

This was playable in the PS3/360 version, here its not. It's just a cutscene recorded from the console version and it looks weird.

Another thing Sam mentioned was how three different style of cinematics were used during the HD game (supah CG, animated and then in-game). In the PSP version, it's FOUR types now. CG, animated, in-game captured from the HD game, and then what little the PSP can show off (which doesn't seem much). Because of this, there's a lot of abrupt sequences where the game can pause for a slight second, load a brief cutscene of any of the three above mentioned instances, and then go back to normal in-game. Very erratic and load heavy.

So if the PS3 version had been inferior, you would have trashed the game, wouldn't you?

lol I think most guys should be desensitized to inferior PS3 games by now. but hey I bought Bayonetta !! I luv that game~

Also Dante's figurine~ :paagaldance:

I wanted to ask this earlier but completely forgot about it...

As soon as you enter the ferryman, is there a puzzle which requires you to kick a particular box up an adjustable platform? There's a tortured soul that you can absolve/punish on top, right after you get the box on the platform.

This segment wasn't there in the PSP version.

Started playing this game yesterday,

this game is far away from the WOW!! factor which we see in the similar kind of genre games, the combat is slick using the cross is FUN during the combat.

well i have w8 and see how the rest of the game folds up.

finished the game yest. i feel it's overall better that what i thought it would be. the challenges were actually fun  though lucifer was a bitch to kill even at normal difficulty... and the ending was a bit weird. i hate

to be continued

endings.

the combat remains the weakest part of the game. dante is too slow and this was most apparent against lucifer. some irritating checkpoints and seemingly random attack by enemies and it becomes very frustrating at times.

good points.. technically the game is pretty neat, no patch till now. load times were short and you respawn immediately after dying. i liked controlling the

styx marsh big a*s dude too

:D

aaand.. i ended up with 29 coins and 2 stones  and how the hell do you miss one of the virgil commentaries? i thought they were all story based  2 trophies wasted. there were no friggin coins after

violence

oh..and loove the divine armor magic..the only magic which helped me in the fight against lucifer and most prolly would help me get through the gates of hell challenge, if i ever wish to get that gold trophy.

lol, lucifer is easy once you figure a pattern.

L2 X and L2 /_\ while in air are your friend.

esp in L2 X in air he cant touch you. Just spam it.

dont use cross attack (or use it seldom like L2 O while falling) in his 2nd form and you are good to go.

after dying 4-5 times, i used this stratergy and well, completed the whole fight w/o dying once :(

his first form was easy..really easy but his own or second form he was irritating. especially since he takes a looot of damage to die down.

and after dying twice i was just too.. er.. frustrated or irritated to use my brains too much. that's why maybe i had to grind and found it tougher :(

I have completed the game long ago. Platinumed it.

My verdict:

8-8.5/10.

Seriously this game is good, I know 76 is really abit underrated for this game. Ofcourse its a GOW Rip-off that too not so good like GOW but still this game is not that bad either.

Visuals: Good not like wow factor.

Sound: Ok, just balanced.

Gameplay: Better than average.

Story: Really good.

Overall - Its a worth buying only for Hack & Slash Fans.

Manual far apart save points - sheesh. The combat is strangely satisfying in the first couple of stages. Another game where the budget seems to have been spent on designing bewbs rather than a workable camera. When a fixed camera works well it's nice - but when it's screwed up like this - yuck.

I can already feel sorry for my thumbs.
