I was actually planning to borrow this from someone or buy it used for the PS3 and play during the holidays in June, but after reading what several people have had to say of late I'm reconsidering this.

its a decent title, but playing it after gow3 high (as aman did) totally kills it off.

 

if you have not played kratos yet then a borrow wont be bad, if you have experienced kratos then forget it.

then save that money and get darksiders instead, i havent played it yet due to time constraints but that looks like a different experience from the usual hack n slash with more exploration and puzzles.

I played it before GOW3 and it's still boring. Mid-way through it becomes a complete chore.

I played the Darksiders demo, and it seemed a bit boring in the middle... yes it may be better than Rickshaw Puller man's inferno but perhaps a bit too many puzzles to increase game length?

Game is 'cheap' in every single department.

Take physics, the sequences where you have to run along a wall with a rope and then jump to grab another one, get annoying as hell. This fcker doesn't gain any momentum even you keep swinging for all your life and when you jump, he just falls like a turd.

well i never experienced any kind of physics flaws or cheap sequences, everything was easy. i played on zealot and finished it without any problems. really cannot understand the reason behind such complaints. I am sorry to say but maybe you guys havent been playing it properly, like not timing the jumps or something.

 

the game has its flaws, obvious ones at that but this alleged 'CHEAP' gameplay is certainly not one of them.

read tyler's review. that explains the game very well. thing is, if you like lots of puzzles and exploration and innovative (for this gen non wii hack and slash) game play with gow type combat then it should be a great game.

 

but if you think puzzles and exploration is boring as it comes in the way of non stop a*s kicking then there is a chance of you being disappointed.

@bul switched to easy mode in between, to get it done with.

 

@Nemo - Physics waws not broken, i had no trouble jumping from a rope to rope, basically there was nothing to gain momentum just two swings...

 

@gaurav - Darksiders is anyday a better game over Dantes inferno, the combat is much more satisfying, puzzles might put you off, i would suggest to skip both, but if you necessarily have to play one, pick darksiders.

 

Overall the games Nudity aspect is just way over the top and so much of boob show is so un necessary, seems like a pervert director, who thought since rickshaw walla doesn't seem even one tenth close to character design they should have achieved, lets put in nudity.

 

Scenes like when the guy comes to kill Beatrice, she running and her clothes getting torn off to show boobs :ouch: and one of the boss fights...

 

They could have made this game much better, the idea was right and the game has its moments, but the directors vision is hampered

Yeah, I can guess how I'll have to play this with the PS3 attached to the LCD tv in the hall. 42 inch tv showing boobs with mum sitting in the next room and seeing tv too. Each time she comes over this way I'd have to pause and switch channels quick and act like I was checking for news in between the game

@Gaurav, I strongly recommend Darksiders. It's one of the best games of the year - definitely among my top 5 so far. It's not purely a hack-n-slash game, it an action-adventure game like the Legend Of Zelda games. Contrary to what AtheK thought, for me the puzzles made the game. They aren't frustrating at all - they just require some logical thinking.

 

Dante's Inferno on the other had has SKIP written all over it. It's not complete disaster but why would you want to play it when you have better options?

 

 

 

@Udham... the ropes... seriously f**ked up sh*t. And the number of times the game makes you do that.

@tyler - the only point i got frusuturated was the second last portal level, i think doing it three times was just to extend the length of the game, before that the other puzzles were fine.
