sundeep
Okay, now i am interested. Big time NG newb here. My last tryst with Ninjas and video games (barring the godlike Little Gamers comic) was Shinobi on the Sega Genesis. So bear with me and my newb queries: 1. WTF is the difference between NG Black and NG Sigma apart from graphics? 2. Is NG Black available on the XBL? 3. What's the estimated retail price on NG 2? Thanks guys:) NGB is available in XBL for 1200 microsoft points(or whatever its called).
K'dash
1. WTF is the difference between NG Black and NG Sigma apart from graphics? From wht i have heard..Sigma is noob friendly difficulty wise..in Black u will probably get ur a*s handed... I guess theres also addition of a new weapon and Rachael is a playable character.. Oceans or CC can probably give u a better answer...

ctrl_alt_del
The ANGRY Pixel "Be A Ninja" Contest See how I blend with my surroundings! With Ninja Gaiden II sneaking just around the corner, the uber-awesome-crazy ninja dogs here at The ANGRY Pixel are all set to unleash our unique brand of ninjitsu on all you unsuspecting folk living your mundane, bloodless lives out there. With crazy contests being our forte (and the secret behind our enchanted ninja superpowers), we've teamed up with our dark bretheren at Microsoft yet another time to bring you the all-new, all-black Be A Ninja! contest. Just in time to celebrate the launch of Ninja Gaiden II and the fact that we've managed to ninjassassinate 10,001 people that dared to look at us or ask us for the time. Now since we'd like to take a breather from all this senselessly sensual killing and play some NG2 ourselves, we're taking applications for ninja trainees who we'd like to slaughter virtually in the game before we turn them into sushi with our katanas. That's right, no codes to break, no brain bending puzzles to solve and the best part is, you don't even have to kill your family and bring us their still-beating hearts! All you have to do is, quite simply, be a ninja. Show us how good a ninja you are, by sending us a photograph of you in all your ninja-awesomeness. Make costumes and props from whatever you can find, have a friend click you in your secret ninja identity (remember to kill him once he's done) and then send the photo over to iareninja@theangrypixel.com along with your full name, your contact number and your complete postal address. This way, if you win, we can send you some awesome Ninja Gaiden II prizes. If you don't, we'll be sure to send a midget ninja in the envelope to kill you for being such a miserable failure in life. That's it for now. I'm going to go and make me some ninja noodles. They're just like regular noodles, but we boil them just by staring at them and use poisoned kunai knives for chopsticks. K'dash
Itagaki Rags On Ninja Gaiden Sigma While Tomonobu Itagaki adores Grand Theft Auto IV, he totally despises Ninja Gaiden Sigma. And Itagaki's own Team Ninja made it! From an interview with website CVG: What did you think of the PS3 game Ninja Gaiden: Sigma? I'm told you won't even sign copies of the game...? Itagaki: It was no good. Why's that? I thought it was pretty good. Itagaki: All you need to do is play Ninja Gaiden II and then try and play Sigma afterwards and you'll see why. Despite the fact that it's on a 'next-generation' console there's no evolution whatsoever. That was made not by me, but one of my sub-ordinates who basically tried to copy the success of Ninja Gaiden. Ouch. We thought it was pretty good! Elsewhere in the interview, Itagaki confirms that Ninja Gaiden II will never appear on the PS3, and if it ever did that would be "a loss of face for everyone involved." http://kotaku.com/5010331/itagaki-rags-on-ninja-gaiden-sigma
K'dash
Ninja Gaiden 2 Receives EGM's GOTM over MGS4 :shock3: Reviews: - Ninja Gaiden II "Game of the Month" (360): A [Milkman] A- [bettenhausen] A- [Garnett Lee] Pros: visceral combat, video mode Cons: corny cut-scenes, awkward camera - Metal Gear Solid IV (PS3): A [Jeremy Parish] A- [Crispin Boyer] B+ [Milkman] Pros: refined gameplay, interesting story Cons: more cutscenes than gameplay! http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_...pic_id=26399827 Update : Oops looks like this seems to be fake news... Anyway, it seems as if the scores ARE REAL for NG2, just not MGS4. MGS4 will not be reviewed in next month's EGM. However, NG2 got an A, A-, and A- which is great news for all the NG2 fans. Let's hope MGS 4 does great too.

K'dash
Old but very nice article : Top 10 Ninja Gaiden Moments: Itagaki Style The Team Ninja leader delivers his favorite moments from Ninja Gaiden. by Tomonobu Itagaki If I were to start talking about Ninjas in a broader context, we'd never finish this article, so I'll limit my "Top 10" to moments that relate to Ninja Gaiden 1. Remember, I received Ninja training as I was growing up. If you don't believe me, go ahead and come to Japan. I'll teach you all about Ninjas. Now, let's begin. Number One The moment when I was extremely surprised by the fluid mobility of Hayabusa. This is when I knew that my right-hand man was a genius. I'm talking about Hiroaki Matsui, a man who has been right alongside me as we created all of Team NINJA's games together. After this moment, I gave complete control over Hayabusa to Matsui, and focused my efforts on perfecting the AI for the enemies that Hayabusa fights. Number Two The time that I became infatuated with Murai's cool nunchaku abilities. It was just too amazing. That may have contributed, however, to Murai being a little bit too tough for some people. (laughs) Number Three Isn't the horse-mounted samurai boss great? The image of him hoisting you into the air on the tip of his spear and then rubbing your face in the dirt is just superb. If I recall correctly, that was a boss fight we added in just a few months before the game was finished. If you're going to give an enemy a spear, you should make him like this guy. One of Itagaki's favorite enemies from Ninja Gaiden 1. Number Four Now that I think of it, most action games that have been born out of fighting game franchises tend to fail miserably, and that's a problem for me. I'm looking at you, Death by Degrees and Virtua Quest. I would have hated for Ninja Gaiden to be viewed in the same light as those two. I hope that those teams persevere on and make some good games next time. Number Five Oops, I almost forgot about the Greater Fiend Marbus. When he was being made, I was almost completely spent. After all, I had been designing the AI for all of the enemies. The game would be no fun if the AI routines were all similar. Even with all of that, though, when I came up with the insane AI patterns for Marbus, I thought I had received the power of the Fiends as well! And let us not forget about the skeletal monster, the horror that is left after the skin of the Holy Vigoor Emperor is removed. He's great, too. I'm willing to say that it's because of these two that we were able to finish the game. Number Six This would be the moment when I received piles of hate mail from fans of the NES side-scolling Ninja Gaidens. "Why are you making this 3D?" "Don't do anything stupid." "Don't mess up my childhood memories!" When I bring this up, you may think that I'll say it was all in the past, right? Unfortunately, that's not the case. (laughs) Number Seven The moment when I realized that the Ninpo in Ninja Gaiden 1 turned out to be lousy beyond belief. That was definitely not the Ninpo I had been envisioning in my mind since I was a child. I have been successful at addressing this shortcoming in Ninja Gaiden 2, however. I'm sure you've all seen screenshots by now, but I can assure you that the Ninpo in Ninja Gaiden 2 is true Ninpo. The Ninpo in Ninja Gaiden 2 is the "true Ninpo," unlike this. Number Eight The number of bugs in the game. There were several times as many as in any of the DOA games. Just like revelations from the heavens, bugs come fluttering down from the sky. Now imagine them completely covering the ground. I pray to God that Ninja Gaiden 2 doesn't meet the same fate. Number Nine Definitely the Hurricane Packs. I think that was a great concept that really utilized the fledgling scheme of Xbox LIVE to its fullest. For us, though, it was just about us wanting to evolve the gameplay. Number 10 After finishing Ninja Gaiden 1, for the first time I realized how much easier it is in so many ways to make a game where the lead character is male. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/848/848869p1.html

K'dash
CVG Tomonobu Itagaki Interview Exclusive: On GTA, violence, DOA and smoking! From our little one-on-one with Tomonobu Itagaki last week, it looks like the man mainly responsible for the DOA and Ninja Gadien series is at a crossroads in his career. He told us there'll be no more Ninja Gaiden games. Or Dead Or Alive beat-'em-ups. So what's next for the outspoken Japanese dev? From what he's said, even he doesn't know yet... Please tell us that the stories of Ninja Gaiden II being the last game in the series EVER aren't true! Tomonobu Itagaki: Ha, I've done everything I wanted to accomplish with this franchise and all of my closest colleagues are satisfied and agree that we've done as much as we can with it. What did you think of the PS3 game Ninja Gaiden: Sigma? I'm told you won't even sign copies of the game...? Itagaki: It was no good. Why's that? I thought it was pretty good. Itagaki: All you need to do is play Ninja Gaiden II and then try and play Sigma afterwards and you'll see why. Despite the fact that it's on a 'next-generation' console there's no evolution whatsoever. That was made not by me, but one of my sub-ordinates who basically tried to copy the success of Ninja Gaiden. Does that mean we'll never see NGII on PS3? Itagaki: No because it's a 360 exclusive. But Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden: Black were Xbox exclusives at the time... Itagaki: We've announced it as an Xbox 360 exclusive, but I don't own Tecmo the company. But if that were to ever happen it would be a loss of face for everyone involved. As the NG series is at an end then, what's your favourite memory of the series? Itagaki: I think it's probably the Attract mode which you might have seen when you leave the screen on without doing anything. It shows a ninja graveyard. That's my most memorable moment. What would you like the series to be remembered for? Itagaki: I'd like to be remembered as the black sheep of game design. So what's next for Dead or Alive? Itagaki: This is another area that me and my closest colleagues all agree that we were able to achieve the definitive fighting game with DOA4. So we're not looking to extend the series at this point. What's next then? Where do you go from here? Itagaki: I'd like to make a brand new action game. Something that no one's ever seen before. And ideas on what that might be? You're going to take some time off first though, right? Itagaki: Yes, I'm going to take a few months off before I really get into it. But regardless of what it is I think you'll definitely see violence as a component of that franchise as well. So the whole 'violence in games' issue doesn't worry you then? Itagaki: No, it does not bother me because we are following all of the rules in terms of ratings. And I believe we're following morality as well in only showing violence between combatants. I think the 'violence issue' is something that is within each individual who plays the game. I'm not shallow enough to tell people that they shouldn't be concerned with violence and I don't want to put words in other people's mouths. I just know that I have to follow the ratings and make sure it's not going to offend anybody. I feel there is no issue with that. If I had any complaints about government regulations it would be the fact that Tokyo recently outlawed smoking in taxi cabs. That's a bigger problem for me right now. :roflroll2: What are your thoughts on Grand Theft Auto IV? Itagaki: I think it's made extremely well and is a fun game. People always use that as an example of violence in games. I don't think there's anyone who takes their job as seriously as the guys who make that game. You only have to look at all the detail in there. Worthy of being the biggest game of all time? Itagaki: I think it's an important argument to make that; how many billions of people in the world are there? And it sold a few million copies. In the overall scheme of things it's not a huge deal. But it is the biggest entertainment launch ever. And that's a fact. Do you think it's worthy of that headline? Itagaki: I don't want you to think I'm being cynical, or that I'm trying to dodge the question or anything, but I don't think of those things like that. As far as me thinking it's worthy, I don't have a particular opinion. I mean it sold, people bought it. That's the reality of it. PR: Time's up. Itagaki: How did you like the content of the answers? CVG: Yeah, very good. Better than I thought they'd be through an interpreter. Itagaki: Laughs http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=189396 DOA5 no more? :shock3:
