The "Good" and The "Bad" News Thread :) :(

Guys, any feed back on the layout of the TAP comics? Is the navigation pane clear enough?

you asked for it:

1) the navigation is not evident at first shot. it's a comic, so you can go with in your face controls. I personally think the navigation in pa, cad, nuklearpower, xkcd are fine. nuklearpower is the cleanest and probably easiest to put in the page.

2) I am not sure but are you putting the original size drawings in the comics? Scale them down into an easily visible window. Remember that 1024x768 is the resolution is what most of the world will use. So while the Max Payne comic size is fine the Gears comic loses its charm in scrolling.

3) There's a lot of stuff happening at the bottom which I honestly don't know is required or not. Move it somewhere else.

4) Use the TAP Blog stylesheet - except for name, nothing looks the same.

And bring on the comics. MOAR I say MOAR!

Just what I wanted to know. Let me address them one by one.

1. Navigation is being a bit of a concern here. CAD comics navigation is one that comes to mind as a perfect example. It can't any clearer then that. Concerned comics is also another nice example. Personally, I am all for modeling it around CAD comics but it will take a bit of a time because we are still stumbling around, finding our way.

2. Valid point. As some of the comics were done almost a year back, we didn't care for keeping the size uniform. Now that all are supposed to be put at one place, we definitely need to take care of that aspect. What can be done is to host the comic on our main site and then post the resized version on the comic page. Click on the comic to be taken to full-sized version.

3. You mean the comments that comes with each comic? If that, then that's something we have to bear with because the system seems to be rejecting any post without text. It's a normal blog post after all. If you were instead reffering to the "Shops are now open" post, then yes, that can be deleted without a second thought.

4. And that's where lies the biggest problem. The stylesheet in it's current avatar is suitable for the main site but not at all for the comic site. This would mean that we would have to put in some significant effort as well as time whichsadly, we are running a little low on because of two mega-projects that we are working on (which will be revealed shortly!). Any volunteers that would like to help us with this? Knowledge of WordPress theme is a requirement.

Again, thanks a lot Bulovski for all the helpful comments. We will try to fix them ASAP. MOAR comics are on the way!

And thanks to everyone for the appreciation. Means a lot to us.
