Bad news: So I fractured a bone near my toe and couldn't walk much for the last week and a half and still can't walk that well.

Good news: I get handicapped parking (amazing parking slots with plenty of space and nearest to the buildings) right through the end of the year and free street parking too :D

^^ ah, had similar accident playing football on barefoot beach-side, long ago .... fractured my toe and it took atleast a couple of weeks to recover ! Since then never play any outdoor sport on barefoot (if I play at all :P)

Unfortunately, if it was the toe it might have been quick. It's the metatarsal connecting the big toe to the foot itself that has a fracture :( But yes, I hope it only leaves me out of commission for a couple weeks. For now, the doctor says 4 weeks with bandages and a special orthotic boot. If it isn't healed atleast partly, another 4 weeks. I'd rather it heals fast so I can actually use that wonderful handicap parking tag :P

Get well soon buddy.

  • 5 months later...
  • 4 weeks later...

A news of relief after months of depression. Finally placed! Mathematics PhD at Louisiana State University for the next 5 years! Not a VERY good university but I'll take whatever I can at this stage. I was so depressed that I was even contemplating leaving studies as of late. Sigh!
