pixeljunkie
It was more like a crook running from the scene of the crime .. my gf was with her friend when it happened. This friend of my gf saw the guy in the car and approached the car to find him kissing some other girl. On seeing his gf beside the car (she began screaming "You cheat, you ****** me and now look what you're doing" ) and this bugger pulled the door closed instantly and just RAN like hell.. Not slowly reversed or anything, just whoooooosh Such a coward. They're both former schoolmates of mine and I've always known the guy's a bit of a worthless son-of-a-bitch but I thought he'd atleast stick with his one girlfriend for the love she showed him. The girl just won't leave him. Even now she sticks with him. He's always like "don't do this, don't do that, don't attend any guy's birthday party" to her while he hangs out with his own friends all the time (both female and male). We've tried telling her how he's gonna cheat on her all the time, to leave the loser but she won't. I just don't get it. The guy has a truckload of ill-gotten money (dad's some bigwig policeman with political connections and Mum's a doctor in a big hospital) and even his college seat was obtained purely through influence. Love truly is blind.... sometimes even to infidelity. Your friend sounds like a sadistic effin pri**. But i don't think he alone deserves all the blame. C'mon, if that girl can't see through him, then a part of the blame falls in her lap too. I remember a somewhat similar story a friend of mine narrated - they decided that the only way to help the girl realize that she was harming herself was by cutting her off from the social circle. Sounds harsh, but it took her a year of isolation before she moved on.

Such relationships hold no future. One day, they will realise the damage and abuse each other and move on.
Vip3r
Such relationships hold no future. One day, they will realise the damage and abuse each other and move on. Well what about the free lunches the free movie tickets the free gifts and all? I hate to say this but girls these days consider the material things to be of a greater importance than the age old virtues. Some even look at it as a necessary evil. The guy's enjoying it.. he gets to go out with a number of girls and this girl still sticks on as his girlfriend. The way I see it he's getting the better deal thanks to this girl's stupidity. She's like a horse with blinders and she's the only one destroying herself while this pig gets his way. Well what about the free lunches the free movie tickets the free gifts and all? Yeah, there are plenty of such girls out there these days. Edited August 2, 2011 by Gaurav - Solitaire

And they may not necessarily be Girls only. I have met and known some big time Male Gold Diggers as well. However, as far as free lunch or movie tickets is concerned, even though Girls may want to go dutch on things like movies and dinners on initial dates, but eventually every girl like her guy who she sees a future with to do as well as her if not more and provide for her, or pamper her with gifts on several ocassions. Now if the only reason to be in a relationship is Free Food, Movie and Gifts then obviously, she wants to use him and BPL later... But that also applies on many guys as well, who uses girls for other things. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong in expecting a few gifts from your guy and Chivalry is a great turn-on, as long as there are other bigger and better reasons to be in a relationship with your partner..like Companionship, Fun, Love, Support, Care etc.. Also, What are age old virtues???

I mean my former room mate was busy cozying up with a married girl and yes I agree with you he walked away from that with one brand new leather belt a watch and a saree (the saree was gifted to him by the married woman for his well gf at home. I don't know what to believe any more and what's worst a married woman fooling round with the moron or the moron professing his undying love for the gf at Home each and every nigh or the fact that the woman he is ahem ahem is buying parting gifts for the poor girl back at hopme also the poor girl as I may recall is being coaxed into shifting to blore where they can supposedly go vicky christina Barcelona . I kno I know its a rant but what has the world come to these days

I kno I know its a rant but what has the world come to these days Hmm.. These are like you said, "Short Term Arrangements", do not confuse love with them. Because, that roommate of your never LOVED that married woman or the girl back home, The married woman never LOVED her husband or this roommate. All playing a "feel good" convinience games.. Almost like another Woody Allen's reference "Whatever Works". Good way to distract themselves from what they really want, good way to find some short term companion without much investment of dreams, hopes, efforts and emotions, good way to live the socially acceptable life and still indulge your hormones once in a while. To each his own. Many such short term arrangements can precede or follow a serious Love involvement. So keep your heart open, have good intentions and most importantly, Believe in Love. It Exists.

I kno I know its a rant but what has the world come to these days The problem with our country is that none of us understand casual dating. Why bother with stupid gifts, commitments and lies? Just hang out with each other, show each other a good time and be responsible by going dutch on everything. Its that bloody simple but nooo...our fascination for drama gets us every time!
