ya don't cut on core component, hell go ahead and buy 2 GB ram, you can always add more later, cut on parts that are easily upgradable later, HDD and RAM being the primamry, look around for a second hard card maybe on Erodov sometime you might just get a sweet deal, sell a console game to make some cash, but def get a good video card.

Good advice. Cut components you can add easily later.

XP x86 uses 3 GB and x64 can use 4 GB, and what is wrong with you why are you suggesting him old cards.. 8800GT, 9800GT, 7950 GX2, when was the last time you went to a computer hardware shop?

i have a xp 32 bit with 4 gb and it shows only 2 gb.........

and these are great cards for a limited budget (8800GT, 9800GT, 7950 GX2,)

Relax. Get the GTS 250 then. Its not a bad card. Actually for its price its a very good card. Look here -

Google around for reviews of the 512 MB version. Pretty much the same (almost).

Look at it this way. In your budget you can only buy a 4850 and a GTS 250 (both 512 MB versions), everything else is either below the performance of those two cards or more expensive.

So it is a no brainer. GTS 250 anytime cause its a better performer than the 4850 (esp as it will have Physx support which quite a few games are now starting to add). Since the ATI range is not available locally to you the decision is even simpler.

So whats with the dilemma?? ;)

Then you cant do anything about it, can you? Why torture yourself? Get the one that is availabe locally.

^^Performance differance is actually 10% at best. With a 30% markup in price.

But anyways this is pointless. Good luck with your PC.

+1 to both. I've been telling him the same thing since the last couple of days. Dude is fussy! ;)

Anyway, I'm using an 8800 GT which I got about six months ago and can run everything maxed in pretty much all games I've thrown at it except Crysis on the very highest settings.

^^ Seriously. If you cant buy it then you cant buy it. Get the next best thing and be done with it.

Anyways my 8800GTS (2 year old) still runs most stuff on High. I keep putting off an upgrade as (with the exception of Crysis) there really isnt anything thats stressing my current graphics card.
