So, Aman, 28.5k, is that a good price for that setup?

get the exact PSU and cabinet details...cabinet can still be managed but PSU has to be good

The PSU is a Vantec. Dunno the power rating though... Cabinet is some iBall ATX tower..

Iball tower is fine but tell him to give you corsair PSU that should make the deal sweet

Was looking to upgrade my PC.Its got really old...upgraded last in 2004.

I was looking for it to be a gaming PC...not necessarily very high end but i don't want it to be mediocre as well.Must be good enough to last at least 2 years.

Please mention the following in detail model nos.:

1.Core 2 Duo (for gaming)

2.Motherboard

3.Graphics card

4.CPU cabinet(with the required wattage for the graphics card...or whatever)

Warning:I'm a noob when it comes to PC hardware

BUDGET:15k

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P31-ES3G 2.9k

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 5.5k

GPU: Palit 9600GT 512MB DDR3 5.8k

Cabinet: CM Elite 334 + CM Extreme Plus 460W (Combo) 3.7k

Comes to a grand total of 17.9k. You can swap the proccy for a E2180 which will save you 2k or so but my advice would be to stick with the E7300 so you have some future proofing.

The rig will run most current games at medium settings easily. If you can stretch the budget another 3.5 k you can get a 4850 which will give you better future proofing.

Here you go.

You can go for an AMD based system but the performance edge is with Intel (slightly) this generation. I am guessing the CPU is the part you are least likely to upgrade in the next couple of years so might as spend a little extra now and save some hassles.

Well like devil says you can go for a AMD motherboard-proccesor combo which will save you 2k or so. On the GPU side of things I dont think you can get a better one under 6k than a 9600.

BTW if you dont have it you will also need to look into getting some RAM.

Nah 2GB should be fine. I am using 2GB with my rig and its smooth as silk. Plus RAM is cheap and easy to upgrade so if needed you can shove another 2GB in there in a year or so. For now you will be OK with 2GB.

EDIT W00T!! 1000 posts. \o/
