^^nahiin yaar.I don't know anyone.........

So that means no DirectX 10 glory for me even after I get a 1GB sapphire ATI 4870. :( :( :( :( :(

From someone who is using DirectX 10, trust me its impact on gaming is negligible. Nevermind the impact it has on performance.

Ok.guys this is what I have decided for now.......

A Processor + mobo ---20k

RAM---all i can get in 5k

HDD-640GB WD 3.7k

Graphics card..1GB 4850 16k

Speakers........5k

Keyboard+Mouse....3k

Monitor...Dell 22'' one or BenQ 22'' one.........15k (I prefer Dell)

Cabinet+PSU.......10k

OS--Vista FREE !!! :wOOtjumpy::naughty::devil::P

So I basically need your suggestion as to what Processor + Mobo i can get for 20k best. Please suggest a intel.......

Suggest me speakers for 5k

And suggest me cab + PSU for 10k.

And tell me if my choices are Ok and price worthy...this Rig is coming out to be exactly 79.5k something.....

BTW this rig may undergo one last change if Dad goes generous enough and stretches the budget by 30k more..i would go for an i7 then...and 1TB space and a 24'' monitor!!!

An i7 would be overkill. For another year or two anyway. Quad core is a good idea for the moment. You have also overpriced your GPU. You can get a 4870 for 17k. The 1GB 4850 should be around 10-11k. If you wait a month or so then price will drop further as ATI are bringing in a new line up of GPUs so the current ones are bound to get a price cut.

Also as far as the monitor goes go for a Dell 2209WA. Its an IPS panel monitor and from all resources it seems to leave all the other TN monitors in the dust. Also go for a larger HDD.

Here is what I would suggest. Below components copied and pasted from a TE thread with minor edits.......

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6/ ASUS Maximus II Formula

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650

Memory: Corsair Dominator 4GB 1066MHz DDR2

Storage: Western Digital 10EACS 1TB

Cabinet: Antec 1200 /Cooler Master HAF

Power Supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro 600W/Corsair HX 620

Its kick a*s config. And fits nicely into your budget. The mobo has crossfire options as well, incase you want to go for that in the future. For that it might be a good idea to go for a more powerfull PSU.

ID rather suggest you go for a 4870 1GB or did you mean 4870 only? 16k for 4850 is too expensive

about the monitor, go for Dell S2209W, the one with eIPS panel as for speakers, put some more cash in and get Altec Lansing MX5021, cant go wrong with these

ya he meant 4870 i think...benq 22" is full HD at 3k cheaper...so benq is a good idea as well.

Altec Lansing speakers are great.

lol of all games to play, u wanna start with mafia? :)

although am not going to sit and debate about pc games vs console games, each has their own advantages so its good if you can get ur hands on both

As for the price cuts, the 4870 is going to be made 150$, the price is slowly reflecting in the us markets as well although am not sure the local dealers here would drop the price so quickly

or you can check out techenclave.com, there are a few 4870s for sale over there if you dont mind buying used stuff

When exactly do you think it wil be made 150$??

Also i dont mind used stuff at all as long as it is from a reliable source...........

And BTW i have decided to spend 16k.If there is a price cut ill go for a even better gfx card???

When will the price cts start reflecting in india cordin to you???

^^ For 16k you wont get a better card. Probably not even after the price cut.

But your 4870 would be a bit cheaper. I'd say it would come down to 12-13k or so. But then again that would be a while, I think we are looking at the middle of April in all likelihood.

If you are buying something used from Techenclave make sure you get bill confirming the warranty. Most of the cheaper 4870 on sale there are imported stuff that carry no local/indian warranty.
