Played about 25 hours of Dragons Dogma 2 on Ally while travelling this week. not the best experience but it gets the job done. low to medium settings was getting me between 30 to 40 FPS. Enjoyed my time on it but boy, it looks stunning on a proper PC. Played next 15 hours on a decent gaming rig and some of the spells look glorious. But Ally did its job, kept me entertained while I was travelling. I just wish it had better battery. Now I need to find some good power bank that supports Ally as keeping it plugged in after every 1 hours was annoying. Suggestions are welcome if you have found some powerbank supporting Ally.

I did not realize how much I will be using portal and how it will actually increase my PS5 games playtime. Over the weekend, wifey wanted to binge watch few series on TV, I used the portal to play a good chunck on Ronin and experience was great. Didnt feel any lag or graphical issues. I was able to finish two TV shows while playing 53% of Ronin. godsend device for people having partners but useless for singles.

I got a used steam deck like 2 days ago.... and now FLipkart/Amazon has Rog Ally for a damn good price.

Should I sell the Deck and get the ROG?

I STILL play a lot of fifa... that being easier is the draw for me.

I dont care about the screen and all that. Steam Deck is DAAAAAMN good though.

Price wise they are the same for me so it doesnt matter.

I will mostly be playing switch games and some PC games.

The standby feature on Steam deck is perfect. I play for 5 minutes put it down and pick it back up. Im reading thats not possible on the ROG is that true?

Also battery life?

Battery life on rog ally is meh, if you dont care about gamepass stick to the deck , and if the deck is oled then forget about the ally.

PS Portal is testing cloud gaming. I think now it makes an enticing buy for single people and people without a ps5. I am pasting the blog post here.

Unfortunately this is in Beta stage, nit not available in India. And available for only Premium members... But it is a good decision.

Ally owners, have a query. Do you connect your ally to TV often? Which dock are you using? Also is it possible to connect an external hard disk if connected through a dock?

Personally, I never connect to PC or monitor. Yes you can connect a HDD via dock, just get a good one

not frequently but once, yes can connect external hardisk but then the dock need to be externally powered (unless you are only connecting one harddisk)
