Wonder if they'll keep the initial shot of Snake dropping in with Raiden's mask on. Gamers new to the series will have no idea what's going on.

That only happens if u select ' I like MGS2' at the start screen

Wuut?! Spent hundreds of hours on that game, and didn't know that.

 

So, who's in place of the Raiden lookalike general near the end of the game, one who's crotch the villain likes to grab?!

Zero had planned a mission where someone would impersonate Raikov (who looks like Raiden) and steal the docs, but the mission got canned, zero was going to dispose of it, but SIGINT takes it and stashes it in your inventory incase you might need it

 

You choosing I like MGS2 and Snake wearing a Raiden/Raikov mask is just Kojima being Kojima

You choosing I like MGS2 and Snake wearing a Raiden/Raikov mask is just Kojima being Kojima

So Raikov being Raiden lookalike is the same no matter what we pick in beginning for 'I like MGS2', Yes or No. Got it.

 

Another one, there's a hidden mini game in the prison, don't remember how its accessed, but as a kid my dumbass somehow triggered it and thought the console was reading game data that might have been on disc before being overwritten by MGS.(Had cracked PS, was not a smart kid either I guess)

 

Ended up deleting save and starting over :/

Yeah, Raikov is always there, the mask only shows up in the intro of you select MGS2 

 

the mini game is guy savage, you access it by saving after the torture sequence and completing the radio convo, then reload the save

Any reason they starting from MGS3 not mgs1? Will it not confuse new fans who looking to get into the series with this new remake??

 

 

Im not hardcore fan. I only played MGS4, V and Revengeance but i watched my cousin played MGS3 on PS2 but myself never tried it.

The real reason is probably because it's probably the most popular title in the series and because it's also the easiest to remake. The first two games would need to be completely remade including the game mechanics and MGS4 is apparently a mess under the hood.

I don’t really have very high hopes from this Game.

Will most likely be a straight up port of the original with redone graphics.

 

Kinda like Gears Ultimate,Halo Anniversary,Shadow of The Colossus & Final Fantasy Crisis Core.

 

Not like Resident Evil,Ratchet & Clank,Final Fantasy ,Dead Space,Demon Souls Remakes.

The way MGSV ended it was most appropriate to restart the franchise from MGS1 preferably with original Metal Gear 1 & 2 as prologue episodes.

 

I was very hopeful with Bluepoint rumours that Sony would have rights to develop it or even fund it like Silent Hills.

Konami should have just sold the IPs to Sony like Epic sold Gears to M$. 
 

Sony not being involved is red flag in itself as usually with it’s old time associated IPs that’s a mark of quality.

have played almost all them metal gears, but The Third one, that's something special man, it has that PS2 memory attached with it, 3 was not just a Game, it's an entire fk'n childhood  the game that got me hooked to my monitor for hours, at straight! (my young lil' a-- was like, gotta finish'em, and finish'em i did)

I think it’s using the same base engine of MGS3 just over laying UE5 on top of it.

 

Kinda like what happened with Halo Anniversaries,Gears Ultimate & Shadow of the Colossus,FF7 Crisis Core etc.

 

So more of a remaster than remake.

 

I don’t really have good feelings about this game.

 

 

Konami should just sell rights of MGS to Sony…..permanent or temporary whatever.

Yeah something is missing idk how to explain it but this looks like a forced attempt but still hopefully I will be wrong.

 

Definitely looks like 1:1 remake as they are planning to use the same Voice dub of the original.

The Animations & gameplay also looks to be the exactly same.

 

I don’t think it has aged well just like the RE games of that time.

 

This franchises demands a complete remake like the RE series.

Yup just looks like a visual upgrade and nothing more to be honest. Still the above footage is pre alpha so finger crossed it will turn out to be good remake.
