Still atleast happy that Konami is doing something with this IP and silent hill

Happy for silent hill but not for this.

They should have let Sony handle this IP for the foreseeable future too.

Both IPs were as it is Synonymous with the Playstation brand just like Final Fantasy.

Still hoping that Bluepoint is indeed working on a Metal Gear Solid ground up remake project 🤞🏻

Just imagine a ND developed MGS game or Silent hill game.

Yup when I think of FF I think of PS.

Sony is undisputed king in making cinematic blockbuster. Spider-Man 2 gave this memo to everyone this year.

BP did confirm that they are working on a new IP. It has been a while since their last title. So many Sony first party AAA games not announced - Sony Bend, Sucker Punch, ND,  Cory's game. Hated Jim for the lack of communication among others.  Glad he is leaving.

That is a great trailer at least from a graphics perspective. If it plays out as well as Dead Space remake, then it is a must buy.

Dead Space in itself was a generation ahead of MGS3,which was in itself was built upon the last upgrade to a design built in 1998.

Also DeadSpace Remake is complete revamp from ground up whereas this one seems like it is being remastered in UE5.

I personally like the new style of showcasing games as & when ready.

Announcing games with engine renders 3-5 years in advance which usually don’t match the final product, doesn’t really do anything emotionally for me anymore.

This new style where MilesM,Demon Souls,Returnal,Ratchet,Kena,Deathloop,GT7,HorizonFW,Ghostwire,Stray,Sifu,GoW~R,FF16,SM2,FF7R2 are being launched within 1-2 or max 3 years of reveal is much more appropriate IMO.

I guess this trend will continue & whatever they reveal in 2024 will be out by 2026 or max 2027.

Konami didn’t learn the hard lesson with Metal Gear Survive.

Their IP’s are not a dimes worth if they don’t have the right minds applied behind them.

Should let Sony handle this one(& probably even Castlevania)aswell just like Silent Hills.

Yeah but as it seems to be a 1:1 remake, I dont mind. They barely show much of the game so it is a bit early to make criticisms. I'm impressed what they have shown so far,

I would prefer Sony's developers to focus on new IPs or stories to existing franchises.

They can pull this off. It's literally a remake with graphical improvements - that's it. Hard to mess that up. They might even outsource it to Bluepoint or a Remake studio and it'll get the job done. Easy money I think.

Now - if you need to write a new story in the series, add new innovative mechanics, make changes and improvements to gameplay etc. - That's when Kojima will be actually missed. It's the difference between Demon's Souls Remake (Extremely pretty game) vs Elden Ring (Actual new game with tons of new stuff, open world etc.)

But yeah - Konami will not sell afaik. They're not in the Video Game Business much anymore. They'll remake these old, legendary titles they have - put them in the public eye once again, remind them it exists and generate more interest in their actual business - which is the Video Game IP themed Gambling Slot/Pachinko Machines.

While they improved the models and textures, the animations of still clunky, lip sync doesn’t match and the lighting is so mid

 No kojima flair
