Stormwolfe
Hi Guys Some of you were really helpful a month or 2 ago giving me advice on where I can buy games and hardware when I move to Mumbai and on what to expect from my internet connection there. Well now I have another question for you, I've got lots of gear, toys, consoles, PC, home ent, etc etc where or who can I contact in India that i can get it all insured with for things like theft, accidental damage, flooding that kind of thing? Its easy over here in the UK i can just log on to a web site and set it all up for a few £ a month but I can't seem to find anything on the internet to help me out!! Any suggestions? Many thanks
godspeed4476
Reliance General insurance is offering coverage on these type of risk's dont know abt others, u wil have to call them up and inquire abt it, googling it wont help much, BTW where in UK are u located? Also be prepared to get harrased by custom officials for small "bakshis" if u plan to bring the toys and games in large numbers

Stormwolfe
Thanks i'll try to speak with Reliance General in the morning, we're having a relocation company ship our stuff over and they are dealing with all the fun at customs so hopefully won't be any problems. We're living about 30 minutes south of London by train outside at the moment and should be in Mumbai around the middle of Feb so in the middle of packing our lives up at the moment lol. Stormwolfe
Lol, typical I'm moving to India your moving to UK! Not been to Coventry but its quiet a way north of London so meeting is probably not gonna be an option, if you're in London at any point before I go though I might be able to get into the city for a coffee/beer? Checked out Reliance Insurance and thats exactley what I was looking for mate so much thanks for pointing me in that direction. Hope your gaming doesn't suffer with all the study in the UK, you shouldn't have to much difficulty getting a decent broadband connection though, and its very cheap by UK standards now. Thanks again 1 years study another 1-2 months vacation..........yep 24th of jan........ going to Coventry Via heathrow

Thanks again Gaming wont suffer at all, in fact gaming is one of the reason's apart from studies, tht encouraged me to go to UK......no more lags, means a killer time in cod 4 and cod 5 The companies are even offering a 360/PS3 with a 25 GBP contract but its only for guys with 3-4 years of credit history u are rite , the broadband is very cheap....around 20 mbps line for only 10 GBP Go for the reliance plan , coz their premiums are lot more lesser then tht of other companies catch u later in london or mumbai.......Tc
MarketTantrik
There is a type of insurance policy called "Householders Policy" or "Homeowners Policy". Every general insurance company offers this type of policy. Ask your favourite insurance company for more details.

Every general insurance company offers this type of policy. Ask your favourite insurance company for more details. The prblem with of takin such policies from the govt insurance companies is tht, they have ridiculous rider attached in the contract tht u will only come to know when u are making the claim for loss, for ex: 1.for proving theft of such items, a crdible proof of "forced entry" into the house has to be proven, i.e, if the thief is smart as and manages to take the stuff without causing any ruckus u are screwed and many of members mite be unaware but many insurance companies do not cover, "floods" and "terrorist attacks" ............ so be careful abt such stuff when taking out the policy

Most people dont bother selecting those coverage options because of the extra premium attached to them.

Most people dont bother selecting those coverage options because of the extra premium attached to them. it is coz many agents are specifically told not to "promote" such risks, so in the end the policy buyer ends up making a loss, i know 2 good friends who were denied claims due to this.
