Bulovski
I think it looks decent enough. Yes there are some shitty textures but overall it's a good looking game. There is a LOT of pop-in though. Controls also feel good enough. I seriously have no complaints there. Then again, coming from the superior version of the game, you may be right. I felt the same way about Fallout 3. Played the PC version first and then the console version just never felt right. Pop-in occurs when the stage loads - haven't seen it otherwise. I don't have an issue with the complaints except the godawful stupid item pick up way - it's bugging me.
Tyler
I have gotten over the item pickup thing. It's not that bad. If it leeched all the items around me then it would actually be a pain considering inventory space is limited and you keep finding a lot of useless guns and other stuff. The texture pop-in is pretty much the same as Gears or Mass Effect. You're right, it doesn't happen often but when it does I just feel like closing my eyes for a few seconds. Anyway, reached lvl 27. I almost thought the game was about to end but a new area has opened up + new quests BTW, so far it's GOTY for me (at least until I play DAO). Typically I should have been tired of the game by now but that's not the case, I still keep looking forward to the next session. Can't wait to get my hands on the PC version and play co-op the way it's meant to.

Tyler
Woah! That good? I may be a little biased. I loved the whole concept even before the game came out and thankfully the implementation is every bit as good as I expected it to be. It's a very addictive game with that "one more level before I quit" or "let me level up to be able to use this gun" quality. The shooting controls are really good and responsive. Compared to a pure FPS it does everything right. Replayability is also an important factor. I still haven't finished the game and I'm already looking forward to playing as the other classes and maxing out my Hunter. And then there is co-op which unfortunately I still haven't been able to try properly. But that would be like icing on the cake. The game is already a winner in my book. killroy
ok I got hold of the PC version...can anyone help me with the General Protection Fault cashing issues on PC? Ive tried playing the game with affinity set to just one CPU but still the same problem. I badly want to play this on co-op...so installed an ahem version on my cousin's laptop...funny thing is that version does not crash, but my honest to god, original version crashes every 5 minutes. Tyler
BTW I encountered a special Rakk named "Rakkanishu". Nice nod to Diablo
Tyler
The third-person tweak in the PC version looks pretty cool! Reminds me of Mass Effect. Can't wait to try it out once I have a copy.
Keyofx
^^ That looks brilliant! It's almost like the game was made as a TPS!

Bulovski
This game is pure crack - exactly like Diablo with Guns. I would be playing this if it wasn't for more traditional RPG which also has tittays.
strategy
completed this one thoroughly two days before........but at the end was quite frankly bored of it....... SO my thoughts : +Great shooter.....satisfying +Diverse enemies + great co-op -Co-op is fun ....but story has been crafted keeping ( strictly) single player in mind -Real lack of people to interact with......it was supposed to be an RPG -Every other NPC you meet COLULD have been great. -bugs with achievements/trophies(game failed to detect 90G worth of achievements) -Somewhat a bad level design .......(changes only in the end) -obvious ( ending, vehicle physics, etc.)
KeezNah
I actually haven't heard much about vehicle handling. I hope the PC controls hold up for me, otherwise I'll be using a gamepad assist~
Tyler
-Real lack of people to interact with......it was supposed to be an RPG No, it was supposed to a Role-playing Shooter. A shooter with RPG-style leveling up and loot. Gearbox never promised any deep RPG like interactions and conversations. The NPC interaction in Borderlands is not unlike Diablo. A lot of the story is told via text and the audio logs left behind by Tannis. Also, I really did not have a problem with the vehicle handling. There are times where it goes all 'Mako' but I can live with that. You aren't forced to use vehicles except in a certain area. I do however agree that the Mad Mel boss fight is broken. It's a lot more difficult if you use a vehicle there (as the game suggests). I just got out and pounded him with the Rocket Launcher from the edge of the arena. And it was pathetically easy that way. Agree about the level design. People who don't like brown environments / scrapyards won't find much to like here. I do like the whole Road Warrior vibe though. Lots of references. Mad Mel... LOL... and there's an Achievement called "Can't we get Beyond Thunderdome now?" among others.
