kshitij
Guys,,, I had downloaded the NXE update(128MB) on to my comp, burnt it onto a dvd,,and apllied to the 360!! but still when I hit JOIN XBOX LIVE(iam new to this) {NOTE;Have already checked xbox live connection successfuly under the Network settings...and it connects succesfully most of the times..but IT gives strict NAt message ibfo sometimes... and once popped up less MTU dan required for XBL,,,though was still showing connected to LIVE!} It starts downloading some updates(Can those be downloaded separately on to comp and applied with BURN-TO-DISC method????.......... and I thpught NXE was the latest update!!! and after sometimes it gives this error message..that "Xbox live signup is not available now.Try Again" So,,what should I do guys,,amean...Is it because of the net speed.... [iNFO: 1.I easily get an average of 300 KiloBytes per Second D/L and also 200KBps( or so) U/L over torrents on my net connection,,which is shared over the lan,,,among other hostel members... And this hampers the normal browsing,,and "NORMAL'" Download speeds,,because of torrents sucking the network! 2.I directly connect my Xbox 360 to the HUB thru an ethernet cable(simlar way in which I connect to PC) so,,since 'NORMAL file D/L" speeds get crapped up..(and the 360 has sparce ram and old proccie<further lowering it>),,so Do I need to route the net to 360 thru ma PC the "ICS" way!!! OR IS IT SOMETHING WITH XBL,,which needs to get fixed soon GUYS>>>AM LOOKING FOR QUICK RESPONSES
vinitwins
stop bothering yourself so much about bandwidth issues - xbl will work on a 128kbps line and you can safely play MP games on a 256kbps connection. the issues you need to be bothered about: a. latency - depends on the international gateways used by your ISP, b. bandwidth throttling - some ISPs lock the max. speed per connection thread, hence multi-threaded downloads i.e. torrents and download managers 'magically' seem to increase download speeds, c. port blocking/packet filtering - you're SOOL if this is the case, but mostly this only affects your connection status i.e. you won't have a direct open path to XBL making match-making cumbersome V ps: load-balancing is difficult to pull off unless you're using specialised hardware (or a linux box) that automatically alters routing tables to maximise usage (and hence bandwidth available) between multiple gateways. P.S.1:there's just a single gateway,,and am gearing up to become the server/admin so that I can utilise even "some other"(read;labs') unaccessed bandwidth by copying onto their public IP adress/mac address to the gateway(server) P.S.2:I got connected to XBL yesterday nite...signed up...had to create new XBL profile...all achievements are in offline profile..WTF,,,, SOmething more serious is: I was eligible for FREE 1month XBL gold subscription(available for all consoles),,hadnt used it till date...had checked it few months back,,,BUT DIDNt ACCEPT IT THEN,,,DIDNT JOIN/SIGN IN XBL back then...But poof,,,NOW...no 1 month Gold left fr me NOW....FCUK M$$$$$$$$$ {Edit:have written to the Support retards) PS3-Dont have one

The JACKAL
^ U cant simply go on live or psn while ur sharing ur connecion with ur pals, U may be able to connect to live but u certainly wont be able to play or join any multiplayer game.Hell i hav a 1M connection and i get a lag if i share the connection b/w my pc and 360 . So whenver i go on LIVE i always remove the pc ethernet cable. So theres nothing wrong with live or psn and it has everything to do with ur racket and setup .Too bad u werent able to use ur free gold memebrship, now ull hav to pay a minimum of 7$ if u ever wanto play online. . U were able to play DOTA becus that game dosent require a great deal of bandwidth. Anyway add me on garena diabloSAHA.
