viper_gm
Guys, I am using Sify as ISP and have just bought a Linksys G Wifi router. Is it possible for me to plug the Sify cable directly into the router and then use the Wifi connection to dial into Sify through my laptop? vinitwins
as long as your ISP is not using a custom dialer/authentication software you can connect the sify cable to your router's WAN port (with the correct IP/gateway settings) and you're all set. ctrl_alt_del
Sify uses a custom dialer.
TechGuitar
I also use my ps3 with my sify connection. Here's how to do it. 1.You log on to sify using your laptop through wifi. 2.Hibernate/shutdown your laptop...without logging out of sify 3.Power on your ps3 and your ready to go. But the connection lasts for about 5-6hrs.After that it times out(Even if you are using a wired connection with your laptop.)After that you log in again on our laptop and your again ready to go. edit:Sorry i dont answer you properly. You can plug in your cable in to your router but if you log in to sify though your wifi connection then it might give some message about your MAC address. At that point call up sify and ask them to register that MAC address(make sure nothing else is connected to your router except your laptop).1 sify connection can have two MAC addresses bound to it.MAC for your laptop with wifi and MAC while connected with the cable is different. Guys , mera ko bhi help chahiya.. bought this wireless router model WRT54g2. Now can i connect it such a way ki i can use the wireless router for my ps3 and psp and brothers laptop and also on my computer. I know sify registers two mac adress so is it possible ki i install this router and my lan card on the pc is already resgistered so yeh router ka mac address bhi register ho jayega and then the wireless router can be used for my ps3,psp and laptop through wi-fi .is it possible? also guys wheni am trying to install this router it says setup has found a exisiting router in ur pc...I never had wireless router before...all that happens is ek cable comes from outside and connects to my pc thats it. then why is it saying that? Sify seems to be Baaki why are you trying to "install" the router? What steps are you actually taking? You do not need to run any kind of install to setup a router.. Now it will be connected, open up the webpage config (most probably 192.168.1.1 or see your manual). most prbbly username pwd will be admin and password otherwise check the manual. And now you can configure it.

Shantz
playstation, you need to configure your router through the config webpage as i mentioned earlier. Anyways, you should be able to atleast see your wi-fi connection in your PSP, right?
