I recently got a Xbox 360 from a grey market dealer with a host of games like GeOW 1 & 2, Ninja Gaiden II, Fable 2, Mass Effect, DOA 4, Assassin's Creed, POP etc... But while playing, i seriously didn't enjoy most of them ( apart from Ninja Gaiden..) .. Firstly because most of them are already available for the PC which used to be my primary gaming hub until i decided to invest in a console ( like a week back..).. What i have noticed is that the Xbox games are generally out for the PC market within 6 months to an year of their launching, leaving me perplexed & looking for a reason to keep this console.. Secondly, the trouble is that i prefer playing FPSs on the PC rather than on any console ( really cant seem to get the hang of them.. but again, Xbox's controller is a natural.. really liked it.. enjoyed GeOW on it..).. I prefer playing Platformers, puzzlers & adventure ( with the exception of TR series..) genres & would rather like to play games which won't be out for the PC ( like LBP, GOW etc..).. this set me in the direction of hunting for a PS3.. Lucky me, i am getting a second hand PS3 from the same grey market dealer.. also he agreed to exchange my 360 for it.. But the trouble is that : a) The PS3's 2nd hand.. Was previously being used in a gaming center & got it's lens conked out..& therefore, it's lens has been changed.. mind you, it was bought from the grey market itself ( so no Sony warranty..) Other than that, it isn't having any problems.. Now, i got the 60 GB Xbox Pro for 22500 + roughly 2.5k for some 15 games.. I am getting the PS3 for 14k.. it is the * old * 80 GB version ( having software emulation for PS2 games.. + * old * Six-axis controller..).. So i have roughly around 11k in hand ( left over with the dealer ) for DS3 controller + some games.. planning to get Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, LBP & MGS.. DS3 is costing me around 2.5k ( grey market rate..).. So guys, what do you think.. Is this deal ok.. Or do i have any reasons for keeping my 3 day old 360..?? ( BTW, the grey market dealer is reliable.. i have known for over 2 years & bought my PS2, PSP & Wii from him...) please reply fast.. i have less than 24 hrs. for this deal to be fixed.. TIA... You are one among few to be getting an older PS3 with BC. Dont let this oppertunity go. Moreover PS3 is a preferred console for platformers, hack/slash, fighting/action games. Also get rid of those extra-games you have. It would be painful to see a dozen games lying around when you like just a couple of them. 360 is a good console bro, give it some time, let it sink in. 3 days is too less of a time to decide and have you tried live yet? AtheK Posted January 29, 2009 Report Share Posted January 29, 2009 Dude get a PS3 for the simple reason that the games that you got are AAA title of 360 you dint like them you might not like the one coming next...and as such itself not a great lineup of exclusives for 360. AtheK Posted January 29, 2009 Report Share Posted January 29, 2009 Well he said its a 60GB X360 which is, to my knowledge, a jasper unit if not a falcon, less chance of an RRoD plus, if its a firmware mod he should be fine wrt to getting warranty and support ect. Though imho a 360 without XBL is like having a pizza without cheese, full of epic fail. Oh yeah and piracy for fail. still its a prospect and firmware or hardware... bossplaya Posted January 29, 2009 Report Share Posted January 29, 2009 most games released today are cross platform, and if ur console is modded, u will be able to play most of em for 100 bucks each, and if u have a ps3, it will cost you anywhere 2k upwards.. u shud keep the modded 360, and buy a ps3 wenever u can.. Back to the point, i generally dont like RPGs.. FPSs play way better on the PC... so i guess there's not much left on the 360 as these 2 genres make up the cream of the console.. ( But Ninja Gaiden is awesome... & so is DOA 4... thinking of keeping the console primarily because of these 2 games..).. Neways, LIVE for me is out of question as i dont have BB at home... just using a Reliance Netconnect connection.. cant get 1 now for some reasons.. so i guess LIVE is not the important point for me right now.. As for backwards compatibility, if it can play games like GOW 1 & 2, then i am surely in.. But the worst part is that even after playing all the AAA titles, i just liked 2-3 of them, primarily because i have played the rest on my PC.. And another point is that most of the games for 360 will eventually be making it to the PC for a much lesser price, which will be a real bargain IMHO... That leaves me in favour of the PS3.. B/C is cool * if it works well *... Games wont be a problem as assured to me by the dealer.. ( He has a huge catalog.. & he was the one who sold this console in the 1st place..).. so what i am looking for is fun.. as already stated, i prefer platformers like LBP, POP etc, hack/slash ganes lke GOW, Heavenly Sword etc.. that is the primary reason i am eyeing this console.. since the lens has been changed, i guess there shouldn't be any problems in the near future.. If possible try for little more bargain or ask the dealer to bundle in a DS3. If in future you decide to give online gaming a try, lifetime free online gaming on PSN will be at your disposal.
