GTA IV is UK's fastest selling game ever

 

The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) sent out a press release this afternoon detailing the scale of the success which GTA IV saw on its first day of sales in the United Kingdom.

 

The title sold 609,000 copies (approximately 1% of the population bought a copy), breaking the previous record of 501,000 which was held by GTA: San Andreas on its launch day back in 2004.

 

Additionally, the game sold more copies on Xbox 360 than PlayStation 3. It set a new record for fastest selling Xbox 360 game ever, selling 69,000 more copies than Halo 3 did on its launch day. The PS3 record, previously held by Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, was also smashed, with 274,000 copies being bought by PS3 owners on the first day alone.

 

44% of the games sold were therefore for PS3, with 56% being the Xbox 360 version.

Hey guys.. I live in chennai.. And i am thinking of getting gta 4 for the 360. I want to know whether its available here in chennai.. I am asking this coz i have asked some dealers and it has not arrived yet.. First of all is the 360 version available in india? anybody who has bought the game in chennai? Or how can i get a copy? i am desperate.. pls help..
