Why hasnt M$ revealed details of the GTA IV DLC yet ?

it's going to be tough to up the scale of GTA:SA, but r* has done it consistently.

i think because of the scale of the city there's a need to cut down on the textures for characters, but they should've at least put nice textures on the main char. i want to see hair that looks like hair and not strands of noodles or a doormat.

I may be willing to cut them some slack on the graphics provided the classic GTA gameplay I know and love has been retained. That said, the graphics don't bother me as much as the slowdown in the trailers. Hopefully they were rendered using a very early build.

 

I'm also going to go out on a limb here and predict another delay leading to an October release. There just isn't enough time for the usual R* PR trickle if the game really is going to ship in April or thereabouts.

^^i really,really doubt that..

Even if the gfx doesnt live up to its expectations,the mindblowing gameplay of gta is dere to cover it all up..

 

The gfx of gta:sa wasnt g8t..But it is still "the best game i hav eva played" :)

 

the charac dun look too bad in gta4..And the rest of the gfx is awesome!

no doubt this games gonna be good...but someting within me says ...ppl would be dissapointed as this onwt live up to thier expectations..i mean gfx could jst spoil the gameplay sometimes...

 

There were so many sandbox games released after GTA SA, and I've played most of them. Yet, when I pop in the GTA VC CD, which is graphically nowhere near to any of them, the feeling is completely different ! Its just that inspite of all its graphical mishaps, GTA has something unique about its city, its env, the characters etc. Even now, I can play any game from GTA 3 to GTA SA with 100% completion and not be bored at all !

 

Moreover R* has overhauled the basic gameplay by removing the 'one-button carjacking', wanted stars etc to give GTA 4 a fresh new look. Whether its good or bad, I just can't wait to play one more real GTA game. Same is the case with the millions of its fans I think !

^^ Can't compare oblivion with GTA, oblivion had 15-30 seconds loading screen between areas, between indoor/outdoor, everywhere ! You don't have a fast car or helis in oblivion, so u don't need areas to load/stream so fast as in the case of GTA 4 !

 

R* claims that once u pop in the disc, after the initial loading screen, you can play the whole of GTA 4 from start to finish without a single loading screen !

gta got 2 years to work on tht + gta 4 is gonna HDD required, oblivion was denied the privilege ,

to make up for the fast cars, u hav teleportation.

i am comparing the side missions/ quest with oblivion, lets see if R* can make it any bit interesting,

as for gta 4 having the same no of side quests as gta SA, just hope it doesnt hav the same quality unless driving around 'entertainers' is your thing

r* is a company which can beat expectations - showed it with SA. i just hope they don't concentrate on the tech aspect too much (gfx and speed) and forget the game itself (story and game mechanics). prime example of how it's done well is hotel dusk (really simple gfx and controls) but man what a game! prime example of how not to do it is thief 3 - i so want to burn eidos for what they did to garrett's story :wOOtjumpy:

i think GTA epitomizes the sandbox genre where you do things at your own pace - whether it be 'escorting' or going on rampage with tanks. as long as they deliver on this and they up the gfx and speed enough to bring it to par with crysis i am a happy man :dance: (meesa have such simple requests)

The PS3 version will SURELY have better Graphics and i expect it to Run in 1080p as compared to the 360's 720p. Missions i think will remain the as great as before, but the PS3 version i think will have 1 or 2 more features than before as it has a Larger capacity disc and it earlier came first on the PSX versions
