Rumor: GTA 4 DLC Adds 15 Hours of Gameplay, Updated Xbox Dashboard Coming in November

The first of the two pieces of Xbox 360-exclusive downloadable content for Grand Theft

Auto IV will add approximately 15 hours of gameplay to the 360 version when it hits this

November, according to an unconfirmed report from web comic RPG-TV.

Allegedly sourcing a Microsoft London representative, writer Chris Thomas further claims that the new Xbox 360 dashboard--packing an updated look, game install support and Netflix streaming--is likewise slated to arrive in November.

Both Microsoft and Rockstar Games have remained mum on the details of the exclusive GTA 4 DLC, only confirming that it will arrive this fall. Likewise, Microsoft has only officially stated that the new Xbox dashboard will hit in the fall.

Shacknews has contacted Microsoft for clarification and confirmation of these details, but had yet to hear back as of this writing.

Need to finish GTA IV by then !!

PCGH - News: GTA 4: PC version will have visual enhancements compared to console version

GTA 4: PC version will have visual enhancements compared to console version .

According to Rockstar Games there are new features:

Better streaming, new textures with higher resolutions, a higher visibility range and the possibility to set the resolution up to 2,560 x 1,600.

Additionally there are new game modes for the multiplayer and a function, which constantly records the game. This allows you to replay the last 30 seconds from various camera positions and edit the individual clips to create a video.

You can choose between mouse and keyboard or the Xbox 360 controller for PC. Those who played the predecessor already know that those features are not that innovative. The PC version of GTA San Andreas had a quite similar list of improvements.

GTA IV DLC on track for November

Sources close to Rockstar North have told Eurogamer that downloadable Grand Theft Auto IV content is on track for a late November release.

Parent company Take-Two previously changed the date from autumn to some time between November 2008 and January 2009 - leaving our stockings at risk of being empty.

The content, which is "absolutely exclusive" to Xbox 360, will be made up of at least two episodes around 10 hours in length, complete with extra unlockable Achievements. Speculation on what form it will take has ranged from additional cities to developed side-missions with brand new stories to unravel. There's been no mention of what all this will cost.

However, the exclusive episodic deal is said to have cost Microsoft around USD 50 million. The company took great trouble to make sure everybody knew about the content in the run up to Grand Theft Auto IV's April release.

Rather a lot of money, considering Grand Theft Auto IV purports to be among the most expensive game created at an estimated total of USD 100 million.

Still, with 10/10 from Eurogamer and over 6 million sales around the world so far, that all seems like money very well spent.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Due Before Feb. 1

Our nation's youth will be corrupted on the go, Grand Theft Auto-style, as early as November of this year and as late as January of 2009, according to today's Take-Two Interactive investor call. CEO Ben Feder pegged Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS as a fiscal Q1 '09 release, putting it in the same quarter as GTA IV's Japanese launch date.

Feder wouldn't confirm that the title would hit before the holidays, despite requests from callers to clarify.

If rumors are right, Chinatown Wars will hit in the same three month window — November 1 to January 31 — as GTA IV's Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable episodes. If that GTA three-way does happen, it could make for a very happy group of shareholders. And a lot of virtual bystander corpses.

Grand Theft Auto IV Tops 10 Million

Take-Two Interactive announced alongside its quarterly results that Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV has sold over 10 million units as of August 16. The release noted that the publisher's fiscal third quarter was "led by the blockbuster" and continues to exceed the company's expectations.

With the PC release and the localized Japanese version still to come, it's looking more and more likely that GTA IV can hit that 15 million mark in 2008, as Hudson Square Research analyst Daniel Ernst predicted.

A cheaper Xbox 360 and forthcoming episodic content sure won't hurt GTA IV's chances this holiday season.

11-Year Old Saves Family & Credits GTA IV

FINALLY, someone does something positive from playing GTA IV; the clouds open up and there is hope in the world. An amazing HOO-RAH to 11-year old Audrey Plique of IL. who, being faced with being upside down in an over-turned SUV, used quick thinking to pull her family to saftey. She credits GTA IV for knowing to get herself and family out fast since in the game after a car flips over, it ends up catching fire and blowing up.

As reported on mywebtimes.com, on Aug. 27th while driving with her family, Audrey Plique was tossed into a scary situation when her father, the driver, felt light-headed and lost control of the car, crashing into a guard rail and flipping the car over. Thankfully, all of the family members were safely buckled in only had minor bodily harm. Once the car was flipped, Audrey saw the back window was busted out decided to climb out and pull the rest of her family to saftey where they were able to flag down another motorist and call 911.

him. And its one of the most brutal executions I've seen so far in a video game :(. Its not gory as GOW, but its plain sick to watch !

Ppl who've given up on the game....do continue guys, the best of the game is in the final parts !

PC version will look better, but isn't the console version generally easier to control?

Vehicle control (esp. aircrafts) is always easier on the console, but on foot controls are better in the PC versions. At least this is my opinion after playing VC and SA on both PS2 and PC.

Then again, I can always attach my Logitech gamepad or my 360 controller for the helicopter missions...

Like Tyler said, vehicle control is easier. Guns don't give me so much of a problem in console - except with the sniper. Man - with a PC that's a piece of cake.

I dont find so much of diff. Actually driving with analogs seems better, especially with pressure sensitive RT/LT. But controlling heli is a piece of cake with cntrlr in GTA IV compared to GTA SA (KB + mouse) !
