Why hasnt M$ revealed details of the GTA IV DLC yet ?

Game is running quite well on my system.. out door framerates are laggy and lot of popings needs to be fixed.. The patch is on its way, i am hoping it ll fix much thing.. I used GFW LIVE for first time its pretty good n also multiplayer was as smooth as playing on XBL

 

But real winner in the PC ver is the Video Editor..it has many options n more to come with the patch, ther are abt 20 shades which will change the gamelook entirely! If we put some Time n creativity.. we can surely create watver we want!!!

GTA IV PC patch now available :jumpy:

 

The patch promised by Rockstar Games last Saturday is now available. Start your game and connect to LIVE to trigger the download. The patch is 32.6MB, takes a few minutes to install, and contains a variety of fixes including the following:

 

A fix to the crash after legal screen that some German customers were reporting.

Numerous improvements to the video editor: Smarter naming of videos, improved rendering quality, better fx during replays.

Fix to bowling while using certain sensitive mice.

Fix for ATI 1900 shadows.

Overall savings to memory.

Graphic improvements to particle systems and mirrors.

Multiplayer character settings are preserved.

Support for DirectInput controllers.

 

Rockstar have stated on our forum that they are "going to keep supporting GTA IV PC for a long time," and that we can "expect additional fixes/improvements in the future."

 

so we can expect even the DLC to come for PC!

Problem in the sense, Yes this is not a good port.. Games like Gears1, AC, COD run very smooth on my sys at full res and high fps.. but here am getting mere 25-28 fps.. and for the ppl who wanna knw hw much fps were they playin on xbox 360, play the PC ver its just 20-25 fps, only thing ther was not much lag n glitches.. This surely is a Hungry Config game.. the engine not well optimised for PC

Well they dont wanna make it too easy for you.

 

I think I will put this off for a few weeks, wait for the second patch and see if I can get Dawn of war + expansions instead.

 

BTW for those guys that have the PC version and have played the console version, is there any specific improvement. Graphics,load times or texturewise at meduim settings and med resolution?

I think my processor is holding me back..... it's below the minimum requirements(AMD 64X2 4200+ running at 2.3)..gta 4 is very processor intensive..

 

I'm running it high rendering and medium textures,the video card usage is 70% and the RAM is also at 73%(2 GB ram) but processor usage is at 86%,so thats where the stuttering frame rate comes from,but Cant blame rockstar for that...

 

Apart from that ,there's lots of texture poppins,the shadows dont render properly at times,and it looks this hug wire gauze....but no real game stopping issues till now though...(apart from SP3 causing my comp to into an endless reboot cycle )...had a few issues with sound(crapy on board sound caused a sharp static sound) that were solved with new drivers...

 

But yeah it's been fun...I get an average of frame rate 19.5( 22 before the update :D ) Didnt have nay installatiom problems..that went through smoothly..

 

Played a few rounds of multiplayer...team death match and death match, I got a gamertag finally....satan85 :thumbsup:
