^^ well, whats the point of comparison ? Mafia 2 definitely looks better, but game play wise GTA IV will own every other "gta-clone" till GTA 5 comes out. Mafia 2 might be the best looking game out there, but its not GTA - nothing is, nothing will come even close

LOL @ the screenshot comparison, cause there just aint any worthwhile comparison to make.

 

Mafia II is in a generation of its own in terms of GFX, leagues ahead of GTA IV. Its like I had mentioned very early on in this thread. GTA 4 looks like San Andreas with next-gen spit and polish, but no serious gfx overhaul.

sales, gameplay, story, replayability, Cinematic appeal, fun etc etc

 

The only dept where Mafia is superior is gfx but thats reason enuf for the anti-gta to bash GTA ! These were the same group who kept cribbing about GTA SA, calling its repetitive etc etc. End of the day, it went on to sell millions

 

Every GTA clone that surfaced in the recent times was said to end GTA Supermacy. But how many of them have even succeeded ?

 

And oh, btw, how many ppl actually have played mafia or even know about it - GTA is sort of a part of pop culture (Esp of the MTV gen) ! Only fools will say Mafia II can topple GTA IV !

And dont even get me started on Mafia's story and plot v/s any of the GTAs. There is simply no comparison. Mafia was evocative, moving and a genuinely rip-roaring tale. All the GTAs put together cant approach Mafia in the storytelling dept.

Haven't seen any Mafia II Teaser yet. Talking of GTA4, game trailers(not the actual game plays) supposedly look far better and superior that the actual game. But in the case of GTA 4 the trailer itself looks LAST GEN, let alone the game when it comes out.

 

It's not like GTA 4 is the only game out there with story telling and gameplay, but this gen demands topnotch GFX. Period.
