Tommy Vercetti kicked a*s in terms of character, but the game as a whole, SA was better - in terms of story, setting, content, map size, vehicles etc etc

Man, SA had more hours of gameplay than some RPGs !

Speaking of San Andreas, I just realised that we don't get forests/deserts/small towns in this game SanAn had a whole new set of vehicles and NPC models when you left the cities, not to mention the cities each being completely unlike each other. There was a lot of variety.

^^ even the radio stations. I loved that country radio station (K Rose) I think. I didn't know country music was good as well, till I heard it in the game 'All my exes live in texas' kickass song

I loved San Andreas and played nothing else till I completed the story. I just can't understand the hate. Or was it the ghetto-centric story that turned people off? I thought it was very Menace II Society/Boyz N the Hood.

The RJ on K-Rose was insanely funny in a rednecky sorta way Edit: RJ's!! Axel Rose! Chuck D! Lets see R* better that.

Dude! San Andreas was in no way a bad game. It was AWESOME! Just that I found Vice City to be AWESOMER. The story, the 80s setting, the characters.. everything was more memorable in Vice City.

 

San Andreas might have given more in terms of gameplay hours and environments to explore but when you look back Vice City was a more kickass game with a badder-a*s protagonist

as opposed to the whiny CJ

@gautam: Thats exactly what I put down in my post. I never said VC was bad. Just that people preferred it over SanAn for some reason. And it's not just you, a lot of people share the same opinion. Tommy was badass alright but I found CJ more emotionally well rounded. I'm sure R* has pushed that further with GTA4. Niko Bellic bawling about being ratted out here we come, heh.

I doubt, i might have agreed on the PS3 (MGS is the biggest according to me) , but Halo 3 was the dream game for many many Americans.

Even I hated the constant whining of CJ. Rightly, once ryder rebukes him - 'all u do is complain CJ' !

This time R* is revealing lots and lots of content to the press....no prev GTA game had this much coverage !

 

That's because they never needed it. Every GTA game released when there was no other other big title around. Keep in mind that they postponed launch to avoid Halo 3. Every bit of coverage will be worth it's weight in gold this time around.

Sam has already announced that there will 10% discount on GTA 4 purchase for GI members... will officially announce when the MRP is announced
