Just call up MS and tell them about this problem and they will replace your console Unfortunately you can't call them up today as it's a Sunday. Call them tomorrow between 10 - 6. Its a good thing that you got fifa 09 as your first game but make sure you get gears of war 2 as soon as possible. Its THE game for you if you like shooters. About the subscription, yes, you do need to pay for it but trust me, its 100% worth the money. When you first register your Gamertag on Xbox LIVE via your console, you'll get a month's subscription for free. Once that runs out, you can either use your credit card or buy a subscription card from a retailer. Using a credit card isnt really recommended because its a bitch removing it from your account. The subscriptions are 1 month, 3 months and a year long.
