Okay...

RDR is creepy at times mostly because of the fantastic atmosphere especially in some areas at night time. And it was quite unexpected. At least games like STALKER and FO3 do have certain supernatural/sci-fi elements.

Can't wait for that undead DLC!

The cannibal stranger mission caught me off guard. Really creeped me out.

Actually the world event that Nemo and I were talking about

isn't the same as the cannibal stranger mission.

apparently there is some ''random'' cannibal event in the game, see here

I went in the same area as the guys there mentioned and found that cannibal for myself as well :O

:chair:

I found it too and decided to leave the cannibal to eat the guy and walked away. Then my conscience kicked in and I turned around, shot the cannibal and rescued the victim :ouch:

btw, i remember that each wolf almost gave you $50 each and the best part is that they come in packs :bash:

the story is really good... some of the missions are classic western...

the side quests are fun... not too repetitive

stranger missions exist.... which all have a small story of their own to tell (i have encountered 17 of 'em)

all in all yes... it is def GOTY contender... since it is an open world game the graphics aren't the greatest.. but the weather effects are pretty good... rain, snow :chair:

also it is pretty long... took me around 41 hours n i have just finished the main story... (93% game completed so far....)

yeah, i did not expect this direction from the game, mainly the reason i was so shocked at the american appetite mission, i love it though.. pleasantly surprised.

also there is that mansion, i forgot the area's name but its the one

where seth finds the treasure- the glass eye

.. sometines you can find a good no. of people in the mansion just on their own, even after doing its story mission, not related to any sheriff side mission too. loads of people have reported it in RDR net forums, the theory is that its the npc respawn point in the game, but it sure makes a nice spooky encounter if u happen to go past that in a stormy weather.

so, is this game a GOTY contender? Just curious to know

yes sir, very much so; its GOTY for me.

Game is definitely GOTY contender - the attention to detail is mind blowing.

Question - how do I know which horse I have? I tame some wild horses here and there. Do I have to buy them again? Can I switch between horses?

you can have only one horse at a time that responds to your whistle and once you hitch it, it will respond to your whistle.

As for horse, the random ones aren't that great whereas the special one usually stand out.

If you ever buy a horse you can call it again and again from the deed form your satchel, they had gene copying in the west :samui:

I know what you're talking about. The mansion is in Tumbleweed.

I made a big, big mistake by starting RDR in between my Alan Wake campaign... Now, AW will bite dust for awhile... :)

On the other hand, this game... Wow!! I've just started with it and am already blown away.. The feel of the game, the environment, Cowboys... :)

Its gonna be a marathon till the morning now...
