I was chilling up in Tall Trees trying to hunt me some bear and I came across this dude mourning the death of what I presumed was his wife. So I ride up to him thinking that maybe it's a new Stranger quest and BAM! dude shot himself in the head. Did I fk up some where or was this just a random event? nash Posted September 8, 2010 Report Share Posted September 8, 2010 I just finished the game and the ending's pretty amazing. I love the way you free roam as his son after you complete the game. And honestly I would have preferred if they got owned cos they were a bunch of ungrateful assholes. Marston was one ugly mofo but he was cool. Like nash said, use dead-eye to shoot him a couple of times in the limbs and weaken him first. He'll start running away from you. Chase him and go crazy with the knife. Just don't let any other bears attack you in the meantime though... I found killing a cougar with the knife far more challenging. Unlike bears, cougars are sneaky bastards.
