yes u will be charged loads of import duties if the custom officer realises tht its not a gift and has a commercial value, would not suggest some 1 sending the console to india, however if u have any relatives or friends in UK, u can ask them to bring over the console in flight to u, tht should not attract any custom duties, (if they have well concealed the console :) )

yes...custom people have become a lot more strict now....

 

one of my relative bought one off ebay usa and got it shipped.....it was marked as gift and no invoice was present....the customs were still levied and that too 100%........they(custom ppl) said had there been an invoice it wud have been 36%....

well some 1 is sending me as a gift

so duties will b still implied?

if only the custom officer decides to check it, sending commercial items as free gifts is like walking on a tight rope, u mite make it safe, but if u fall u will have lot to pay...........

the last i heard , the Govt mite even prosecute/fine u for dut evasion :)

hmm i mean if some1 ships from there.......wont he has to pay if thers will b any duty on it?
