XeOn Posted December 23, 2007 Report Share Posted December 23, 2007 hi guys i'm a new member in this forum.. and am a noob when it comes to console's... i have a guge doubt... see i am buyin an x360 from a friend.. it has an RROD problem... so he is selln it to me for 5.5 with one extra controller and the HD cable.. its a pro console... is the RROD really possible to stop completely or is a normal thing that keeps happening??? plus if i try with that x-clamp methord do u think it will turnaround and not have anymore issues??? I used to think that I am one of those guys that won't experience RROD during the lifetime of my console.Guess I was wrong,really wrong !! On 29th of october,my first Xbox 360 showed up RROD.They exchanged it in ONE month i.e I got the new( ) one on 28th November to be precise.The same day it showed drive error i.e. the disc tray kept coming out relentlessly and the console wasn't reading any sort of DVD either. I again launched a complain and this time they took about 20 days.For 4 days it worked fine {Thank God,that I finished COD 4 yesterday},,but today I got the 0022 error. HD cables: ~500 bucks 5. mic: ~500 bucks 6. dead console: ~2-4k (for scavenging parts like heatsinks and DVD drive) on the other hand, reviving a RROD console from death is a hit or miss process - depends on what actually is causing the RROD - whether it's a cold solder problem (towel trick might give you a temporary solution) or if the GPU is overheating then clamps might help... According to Msft, nearly every 360 which was manufactured in the early stages is bound to experience a RROD problem thus they have supplied a additional 2 years warranty for the same. Whether your 360 will show it or not is just a matter of time and luck. Next time try to make your questions more substantial like: "What can I do if I get the RROD?" or "How to prevent the RROD?" MadridistaLove Posted December 27, 2007 Report Share Posted December 27, 2007 my xbox showed me da thing which we all fear----da red lights!! f**k!!...........new yr eve comin up and i can't live widout ma 360! i allowed it to cool down for couple of hrs!!......played again in da afternoon.......it waz workin but hanged 5-6 times in betn games!!............i know it is in its death bed!! but someone plzz tell me some methods so dat at least play on ma 360 till da replacement comes!!...... called up redington and dat lady talks like a moron!!....""ya i call when xbox inform me...some steps we hav follow"".....n crappy stuffs!! butt will keep calling dem everyday.......and stupid ms india closed at 5 wen dere official tym is 6pm!!
