  • 2 weeks later...

i called up MS to replace my power brick(thought that let me give my chances) and they tried to register my console... but they then found out that it was an NTSC-J console... so they told they cant replace my powerbrick....

then an idea striked me and i told my friend to call up instead and give his serial number... they have dispatched the new power brick for me... and will be recieving it in a day or 2...

yahooo!!!

CAN ANYONE POST THE DETAILED PROCEDURE OF "THE RUBBER TRICK?"

hey mohit,

aright ....

here is the steps to use the rubber trick....

but first things first ... gimmie the error code that u are facing on your xbox.... am doin a research and documenting the error codes everyone is getting....

so here's the deal ...

1) go to your nearest stationary shop and purchase a 10 bucks rubber(preferably steadler for good quality ) and double ended tape which is slightly thick....

2) go onto googe and type "xbox chop shop" and follow the steps to open up ur console.....

3) under the motherboard you will find 4 real bad quality rubber pieses on your memory chips

4) rip them apart and cut the steadler into the exact shape of the mem chips

5) put on the double ended tape (which is foam based) and stick the rubber on the mem chips....

6) do not connect the fan and keep the console on for about 15-20 mins (this is called baking which is very essential)

7) let the console cool for a lil while and then turn it on

8) woila! your x-box is up and kicking again

mind you! if u are facing the error code 0020... better change your power brick .. because that is what that is creating the irritation to the console....

cheers!

P.S tell me your error code for my documentation ... thank ya!

@xeon...............awesome work bro!! :P

go to this thread-- http://www.IndianVideoGamer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2348

read this thread and if possible tell me a temprorary soln coz my replacement console is takin hell of a time!!

hey ~MaDriDisTaL0v€~,

according to my knowledge 0012 and 0013 are possible overheating of the GPU ... it might be the clamps not in the right position and there must be an air gap in between the GPU and its heatsink ... so creating an error ... the only possible solution if u have it under warrenty is giving to MS... else u will have to open up the console and change the x-clamp with the x-clamp fix....

and if u can to change the stock cooler with a really good intercooler... something like the likes of cooler master that gives proper cooling ... the stock 360 fans are not of a real good quality ...

am sorry i cant be of much assistance if ur console is under warrenty ...

but u should get it exchanged as soon as possible as the solder might jus get even more damaged...

After almost one full year of purchase my beloved 360 is officially dead!

Tried reviving it but no luck. Will call the burial service tomorrow between 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Hope it happens soon...

PS: I think I'll be buying a PS3 sooner than expected!
