Andrew327
I thought the RRoD problem was solved. D: They say that the newer version with Jasper chips does not have this plague, but only time will say. But you know what theres a new plague spreading, there were three lights lit in red and one was off this one is vice versa
collectedsoul
Was wondering...if I were to get a new xbox what are the chances of an rrod? I hear these jasper chips are better - is there a way to identify xboxes that wont clonk on you (like serial no. etc)?
vantheman5211
^^^ well yeah the jasper chips produce less heat and thus the chance of rrod is less.
devil_angel
Guys just today i was reading in an article .....it says that the 3 year rrod warranty covers for only 3 years after the date of manufacture at the back of the console.....I thought that it was 3 years after the date of purchase....My console is a 2006 model and i had bought it in 2008.....now have i lost 2 years warranty just like that beacause i had been sold an older console? I have already replaced my console six months back for a disk tray malfunction and now this begins to bug me.....

The warranty is 3 years from date of purchase / registration. If you bought the console brand new from a retailer, then you are fine.

If you bought the console brand new from a retailer, then you are fine. Thank God I bought it from Landmark..... Here is the link regarding the warranty extension of e 74 and also about what i was talking about..... http://www.gamespot.com/news/6207887.html?...adlines;title;2 "As with the RROD, the warranty covers the Xbox 360 for only three years after its date of manufacture, which can be found on the back of the box. As many early adopters have discovered, consoles made during the 360's first six months on the market are no longer covered and will have to be replaced at the owner's expense. Microsoft is assuring purchasers of new 360s that it has "already made improvements to the console that will reduce the likelihood of an occurrence of this issue." Bulovski
me likes MS got rrod on sunday (finally), called MS on monday, redington called me on tuesday, and console comes today - good service i say. the funniest part - I don't think MS officially recognizes the term "RROD" or "Red rings of death". I told the operator 'I have the red rings of death, yknow, rrod'. He was 'Sorry sir do not understand'. Then finally I said '3 flashing lights' and then he went to his usual spiel. But overall good experience with MS support - very smooth.

The Assassin
^Gurgaon or Delhi? Does MS have international warranty? Am thinking of getting one from US. No,dont get from the US.Their region is NTSC-U whereas India has Pal.U will not get NTSC-U games in India which are only available at PA.Moreover,u will have to buy a voltage converter. But the main thing is u wont get warranty & u will have to send it to Australia which costs around 5k. Bulovski
that's surprising from MS - esp if you are in bby. take the complaint number, call up MS. then call up redington. shout at them. find out their office in bby from where they will get the console, go pick it up. zophar
guys, my 360 past few days has been hanging within 2-3 minutes of booting, it gets to the dashboard fine but any game I load up hangs within a few minutes.. has happened consistently whenever i have used it past 2 days.. signs of coming RRoD ?? Any tips as to how I can actually get the damn red light to get the 360 replaced instead of having it hang ever 2 minutes and tech support tell me "PLEASE WAIT TILL THE 3 RED LIGHTS DISPLAY"
