Death Stryke
^The pins wont fit in the normal Indian sockets. US plugs are the straight edged ones with one pin slightly smaller than the other.
AtheK
My opinion:Better to buy it from india. 1.You will need to import Blu-ray movies from US to play them. The ones from Indian won't work.(Different regions) 2.US consoles are NTSC while indian games are PAL.So if you have a SDTV then you are screwed.(You will need to buy a HDTV and connect the ps3 via HDMI for proper gaming then) 3.US warranty won't feature in India. 4.You will need a converter i.e from 110v AC to 220v AC(I'm not sure about this) 1. NO all blu ray india are RF. 2. Very very very Few games. 3. Yes 4. No 3 wrong answers out of 4 bad very bad.

Hot-Drake-Pixel
I suggest a few more things to be purchased along with your PS3. 1> Extra DS3 for offline multiplayers with your buddies. 2> PS3 media remote. Since you have truck load of blu-rays, this is a must. 3> Decal girl skin, if you want to pimp up your console and keep is dust and scratch free. 4> USB Adapter to increase the number of USB ports. 2 are just not enough. I am running short already with 4. Some games I would recommend. LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, Uncharted, Cod:waw(if you dont have already) and upcoming KillZone2. Dienekes
Hi Folks,I am planning to buy a PS3 from US and bring back to India. Good idea? Pro's Cons? I have the PS3 sitting in my DELL shopping cart waiting to hit the purchase button as soon as I get some feedback from the gurus on this site. Please help me - thanks so much. Regards, -Mav Although most of your queries would have already been cleared by our resident BR showcase (read HSP), I would just suggest to go ahead with the purchase and also do get the additional acc. (like BR remote, +1 DS3 ctrller, etc.).This is one of those electronic piece which is best suitable to be purchased from abroad (esp. States). Death Stryke
^No dude, the US straight pins are weird. I know that most of those extension boards you get here have straight pin sockets, but the 2 pins in the US plug are dissimilar in size I've never seen the US sockets in Indian homes, but guess you have it if you r saying

Not a big deal though. Rs 10 pin converter would suffice.

Joy
You can easily get adapters for those as per Indian standards , like my Corsair HX620 PSU , it had US straight pins as well , bought a adapter from NP and it works perfect since then.. maverick2472
Yes, just the right pin would do as well. I assume you just need those adapters to convert the pin types. You can get them in any electical store. Do any of you guys use surge protectors and inverters for back up? I use two APC 800 series - may have to upgrade when I go back to India.
