in almost 250 games played so far, i have yet to see a sniper make the difference between a win and a loss.

this is not true. i just played for 12 hours total. yesterday i was playing with random squad and as attackers, we were losing in that jungle map (forgot the name). we tried attacking from various locations but were failing because we were a random squad maybe. i was playing an engineer, but i switched to recon..took a quad bike...drove it quite a distance and exited and became a statue in nearby bushes. my team used me as a spawn point very near to defenders and we won.

i didnt score but we won.

Yeah but you werent really being a sniper. It was a good thing for your team mates and squad mates but you might as well have been a Engineer. The ghillie suit doesnt make that big a difference in hiding behind a rock or bushes.

true! it was just one match wherein i switched to recon and we won. i never leave the engg's side otherwise. :-)

LOL. Eng is becoming my second favorite class. Its a really cool game of hide and seek. Unlike the medic/Assault you cant really take on most other classes head on so you have to pick your moments, stay hidden a lot, shoot vehicles from the flank/back and then go back into hiding. Makes you feel like a hunter.

Afaik, the Sniper is not a class in itself. The Recon class exists to provide..er reconnaissance to the team. Sniping comes second. People really should stop using the class just to get kills. Especially if you are an attacker. The Defenders have infinite spawn tickets.

but with the 4x zoom (spec 2) and the new smg i got (again forgot the name), it good to be eng. wonder what the ceramic armor will do to me.

will try assault after i become good here.

sniper,sniper and more sniper,this guys have no life

hiding in jungle and then snipping me every time :P,add to this the OP LMG(?),those medics using 4x zoom with Lmg,

and then rain of bullets :P

i use the RDS on all weapons except sniper rifles. i can even play with ironsights if the tradeoff is worth it. the RDS in this game looks horrible though... like someone painted a red spot in the middle of your screen with watercolors. modern warfare 2 does it much better... heck, modern warfare 2 does all weapons better.

lol no way, MW2 weapons feel like toys in front of BFBC2 weapons. There's some real recoil in Assault rifles in BF2. The LMG's actually act like LMG's in BF2 (where they rape the AR's but in MW2 its all about AR's). The RDS does suck though but its not that bad. Iron sights are some of the best in BF2, since nearly all guns have recoil it feels more realistic. And don't even talk about sound effects :)

I think 4x Zoom scope for almost every Medic LMG is useless. The recoil on those guns makes it almost impossible to use the scope properly.

 

4x is total sh*t....

 

the amount of recoil u face is incredible...its only useful if u want to spot ppl 4m a distance..

Slap on the 4x with M60 on magnum rounds and its 2-3 shot kills if you tap, little to no recoil and easy kills from halfway across the map, where it would be impossible to tell the enemy from the bush with rds/iron sights.

finished the SP campaign today morning. The cutscenes do take you completely out of the action. I really wish they just had cutscenes (atleast all those stupid small ones) in first-person. Maybe then I'd be a little more engrossed in whatever was going on. And, in a few places, the game was just plain cheap in getting me killed. Didn't enjoy the SP campaign much but I bought the game for the MP anyway so no worries :scratchchin:

There was never a dull moment in KZ2 or MW2 when it came to MP,but this one seems to be too boring and dull :doh::scratchchin:
get a headset and play with friends from IVG as a squad and you'll like it. The distance is hardly ever tiring coz there's always someone you can spawn on or there's always a vehicle you can take
