A 7.5/8 is a playable and enjoyable game. I am almost at the end, and I can say it's a solid 7.5/8 game. Reviewers were on point on this one. I think we should play games below 9 as well. Especially given the current context in gaming, where a game like this is super rare. Back then we used to have lot of narrative driven single player games with simple mechanics but it's the case anymore. I am enjoying a refreshing take. The setting looks beautiful, the voice acting and performances are perfect. The story is very simple but strong, nothing that would require a 2 hour explanation video to understand the ending. Gameplay wise it is very straight forward and the difficulty is quite forgiving. And finally the length is perfect. It feels really refreshing to have a game which is good throughout the 10-15 hours long playtime, instead of being 100 hours with 15 hours worth of good parts. My only small criticism is about the looting mechanic. It is not at all necessary to do so. And if you did there is not much of a pay off. I completed the game with the one knife that I bought and whatever weapons I picked up from enemies. For me it was solid overall, and I personally feel it was a hidden gem because I had no hype for this game and bought it just because it was on sale on GMG.
